LOL Lotsa FReepers have a strange relationship with this TV show and its liberal pop culture status. Just like the love-fest so many around here have with the liberal Dennis Miller.
“Strange relationship”? Not me. The only relationship I have with it is having to listen to Laura Ingraham, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh prattle on about it. Give it a stinkin rest, already. It’s just a TV show.
I dropped that show like a hot rock after the first season. It is the antithesis of an action show. The premise is bas-ackwards in that you take a twenty four hour day and drag it out (with reruns included) to a thirty four week ordeal. It's pitiful to see every moment of a day (excluding eating, sleeping, changing clothes, potty breaks, &c.)dragged slowly before our eyes.
I remember a movie a few years ago that had it right. I'm not sure but I think the movie title was "Real Time". The plot involved kidnapping Joe Sixpack and telling him he had ninety minutes to kill the first lady at an upcoming press conference, or his wife and family would be killed by the kidnappers. The movie of ninety minutes of his life took place in ninety minutes of screen time. It was about the most intense movie I have ever seen. 24 drags badly in comparison.

It’s just a TV show. I enjoy it, but was never under the impression that Sutherland was conservative. His old man is a loon too.
Dennis Miller is a “9/11 conservative”, or, IOW someone who’s socially liberal, fiscally moderate, and pro defense. I enjoy him too, but again, wouldn’t vote for the man for office or anything.
