The lure of plentiful South Africa [ Zimbabwe illegals ]
BBC News, South Africa ^ | Saturday, July 21, 2007 | Peter Biles

Posted on 07/21/2007 10:44:12 AM PDT by SunkenCiv

The economic crisis in Zimbabwe is having a severe impact on its neighbour, South Africa. An estimated three million Zimbabweans are thought to have fled to South Africa to escape the chaos and they continue to flood across the border at Beit Bridge... Zimbabwe is on its knees. Its people are starving and desperate. South Africa is seen as the land of opportunity. And the bright lights of this economic giant beckon... When they reach the South African side, they dry themselves down and edge nervously towards South Africa's triple-layer border fence. This is a barrier that was put up in the days of apartheid - when the country's white rulers tried to stop the guerrillas of Umkhonto we Sizwe, the armed wing of the ANC, from infiltrating from Zimbabwe... The illegal migrants from Zimbabwe approach the first fence and cut the wire mesh or burrow in the sandy soil to open a gap underneath. Then, using their bolt-cutters, they make their way through rolls of razor wire. And finally, they penetrate another layer of fencing... It is thought that about 1,000 Zimbabweans are being arrested in South Africa every day and sent home, but as many as 3,000 a day may be coming into the country... Most want to head south to the big cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria... Game farmer Gideon Meiring sees himself living on a frontline. He says the police can not cope, so with military precision, Gideon now runs his own patrols and tells me he comes across Zimbabweans on his property almost every day. All this is the consequence of what is happening in Robert Mugabe's Zimbabwe, a country that was once a jewel of Africa.

The irony is that the South African government is considering many of the same "land reforms" that started Zimbabwe's crash. Where will the South Africans and Zimbabweans flee to then?

What happend in Zimbabwe and South Africa is perfect example of what to come in Europe and America once immigrant minorities from third world countries gonna become a majority. Expect a one party socialist state with subsequent nationalization of private property.

They will flee to Europe and America of course.

Rush has talked about the drive-by media. How about the drive by liberal establishment. They take on cause after cause but never see anything through. They start one project-create Zimbabwe, topple the Shah etc and then are off to new project.

The LEGACY of Jimmy Carter and the U.N. under his racist stooge Andrew Young.
From a profitable and well educated, well fed, viable
nation to a wretched outdoor slit trench.

And he did the same for Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, ElSalvador and Iran. Wwhen Jimmy eff's something up, IT STICKS!!!

Zimbabwe is one of those rare situations where we can honestly say, it will get worse before it gets even worse. Mugabe hopes that most will flee — if they don’t, the bloodbath will be akin to that of Rwanda. That’s about the time that President Hillary Clinton will send her Vice President Obama as a special envoy on a factfinding mission, and he’ll come back blaming the situation on the legacy of imperialism, and calling for reparations for slavery.

President Hillary Clinton... Vice President Obama... how’s your blood temperature? ;’)

Are there any white folks left in this hellhole? I read the story, expecting that possibly some of the illegal migrants were Cacausians trying to get free.

Anybody been to South Africa (or living there now) who can assure me that this will not happen there once Mandella is dead?

“The irony is that the South African government is considering many of the same “land reforms” that started Zimbabwe’s crash.”

I spend a lot of time in South Africa and think that to equate proposed RSA land reforms with what has gone on in Zimbabwe is ludicrous. RSA’s black political leadership isn’t perfect, that’s clear — but, they do understand what it takes to keep their country economically viable and, while they want more black ownership of lands and business long-term, they fully understand reality and are not about to cut off their noses for some short term gains in that respect.

South Africa and Zimbabwe faced similar “post apartheid era” racial issues. Zimbabwe took the “hate whitey” direction and South Africa went the more thoughtful, and effective, racial reconciliation route. Neither the people nor the Government of South Africa is deaf or blind — they can see what happened in Zimbabwe and they won’t be making that mistake themselves.

“Expect a one party socialist state with subsequent nationalization of private property.”

True enough!

And, what America’s white liberals don’t seem to grasp is that the new minority power structure won’t be suffering from any “brown guilt.”

The left hates western civilization with the same zeal Hitler hated the Jews. It’s their ultimate goal to destroy it. That is why they opened up the floodgates of Europe to the savage hoardes of north africa. That is why they support uncontroled migration to US from Mexico.
