No a cult is a society based on the personality of a single individual. For Islam that personality, that individual is Mohammad.

Is not Christianity based on the personality of Jesus Christ?

AAMOF, Christianity takes it to the next level, considering Christ to be God. Islam says Mo is just a man, although the best man who ever lived.

When Mohammad was asked by a follower how should I live my life? Mohammad responded after some thought “In god’s servant (Mohammad) you have the example of a godly life”.

How about the bracelets with the monogram, WWJD?

Somehow I knew if you responded you would say something to this effect.

The answer is no. Jesus built on the words of the prophets that came before him. Jesus said “I come to fulfill the law not destroy it.”

Mohammad on the other hand said that the Jews and Christians had corrupted the word of god and that he had come to be the final prophet that would restore God’s word. (By the way recently found ancient scrolls put this to lie. The ancient books of the Bible are virtually unchanged for at least 3000 years.)

Any Hebrew prophet would have told Mohammad’s follower that the scripture tells you how to live. Jesus when asked what is the greatest commandment? Jesus said love the lord your God with all your heart and the second was love thy neighbor as your self. Jesus certainly never told his followers to go out and kill those who would not be converted he told them that those who would not be converted would face God’s judgment.

Any comparison of Mohammad to Jesus the Christ is a false one. Others with a better handle on scripture I am sure will appear to explain it better.

No Mohammad was a megalomaniacal schizophrenic military dictator, who took his hallucinations and built a religion among the Bedouin.
