Mitt's makeup wakeup call: Romney pays $300 for predebate primp-fest

After chiding Democrat John Edwards for his $400 haircuts, former Gov. Mitt Romney dropped $300 at a California beauty salon to ensure his face was properly powdered during a televised presidential debate.

Romney, always perfectly coiffed on the campaign trail, spent the cash at the Hidden Beauty salon in West Hills, Calif., which employs a “mobile beauty team” to provide on-the-go hair and makeup services for men, according to its Web site.

“For $300, I hope he got a manicure and pedicure, too,” Democratic political consultant Michael Goldman said. “If Mitt needs to spend $300 to look halfway decent, I can only imagine what Rudy Giuliani is paying.”

Romney campaign officials said the former governor only used Hidden Beauty for one $150 session, but had to pay $300 for a pre-booked second appointment that was never used.

Mitt has a strong hold on the metrosexual vote.

From the article: “I’ll tell you this,” said Stacy Andrews, “he is adorable. He is so handsome, I just thought, what am I supposed to do with him? He was just as sweet as pie and so cute. I just put a drop of foundation on the end of his nose and used some pressed powder.

A dandy whose running third. Nice to see that our side has a John Edwards of it’s own.

Why in the wide world of sports do these preening peacocks not pay for this type of stuff out of personal funds?

$300? Chicken scratch. I don't even want to think of how much Hillary pays.

Although, networks may pay for that so as to not damage any lens.

Is Romney running on the same issue pretty boy John is? Romney (and Edwards) are wealthy in their own right but Romney is not pandering to the poor for a vote, nor will he get that vote. So I say, so what.

Hidden Beauty salon in West Hills, Calif

Most men I know...wouldn't be venturing into a place called the "Hidden Beauty" salon......

But what do I know......

You mean a guy worth $250 million, who has financed a lot of his own campaign, decided to use $300 before he went on tv?

And this is a bad thing?

Seriously, the desperation from the left to bury their most feared opponent is getting hysterical. President Romney is going to be a reality, and the Hillary lovers will just have to learn to love it.

The radical homo lobby is rooting for Mitt. “We must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern,” Mr. Romney wrote in a detailed plea for the support of the [Log Cabin] Club, a gay Republican organization.

This picture is an obvious forgery. The words "Make up" are under the address column and the dates are all 2005 and 2004, but the article claims that Romney spent $300 at the televised debate THIS year.

Furthermore, this picture is hosted on a site with the title "The Raw Story | Liberal news with an edge"

http://www.rawstory.com/exclusives/byrne/

Your motives here are clear. You've been going from thread to thread lying about Romney having an amnesty program and now you post a forged picture hosted on a liberal site to damage him. This picture should be removed.

LOL....you are getting pretty desperate, aren’t you? Romney is definitely in favor of amnesty as posters other than me (and Romney himself) have pointed out many times.

You can try to censor me but you need to spend more time than a week here before you call me a liberal or a troll. LOL.

BTW, the picture details Romney’s make-up expenditures as a governor.

The Ken doll comment is straight out of a column a week or so ago by Cokie and Steve Roberts who, of course, are well-known Democratic flacks. It’s interesting that Romney bashers are taking their ideas directly from Democrats who are worried that he will be the Republican nominee. The worst they can throw at Romney are jealous, envious comments about his good looks.

I hadn’t realized being handsome precluded someone from becoming President. If I remember correctly, Ronald Reagan had a full head of hair and a good set of teeth. He also had an Adonis physique that he liked to show off while cutting brush at his ranch. He looked good in cowboy togs, jophurs, and a tuxedo, too. Nobody held that against him.

Frankly, the drivel about Romney’s looks is stupid. Against Hillary, he’ll get the female vote and that should interest Republican strategists.

They are all shaking in their birkenstocks. It will be President Romney. In their heart of hearts they know it and it drives them all crazy. I love it! I can’t tell if the FReepers who are so hysterical about Romney are liberal operatives or just nut jobs. Just saying ROMNEY is enough to get them started. As we will see...

It’s been downhill ever since television coverage of presidential debates, starting with Nixon and JFK.

Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer

Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!

I said dreamer, you're nothing but a dreamer

Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!

I said "Far out, - What a day, a year, a laugh it is!"

You know, - Well you know you had it comin' to you,

Now there's not a lot I can do

Dreamer, you stupid little dreamer;

So now you put your head in your hands, oh no!

I said "Far out, - What a day, a year, a laugh it is!"

You know, - Well you know you had it comin' to you,

Now there's not a lot I can do.

Well work it out someday

If I could see something

You can see anything you want boy

If I could be someone-

You can be anyone, celebrate boy.

If I could do something-

Well you can do something,

If I could do anything-

Well can you do something out of this world?

Take a dream on a Sunday

Take a life, take a holiday

Take a lie, take a dreamer

dream, dream, dream, dream, dream along...

Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer

Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!

I said dreamer, you're nothing but a dreamer

Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!

OH NO!

Supertramp - Dreamer. Blackbird.
