Not that I think he can win but his positions do resonate with a lot of what’s right here on FR.

What gets me is he's the only Republican who really supports fiscal conservatism. That says a lot about the Republican party.

I'll give Paul credit as well, we need to get out of the nation building business - I clearly remember the current President Bush speaking out against nation building, and yet that's exactly what we are doing in several parts of the world (not just Iraq/Afghanistan, but hell our government is working on donating millions to the palestinians alone).

If it was just about nation building we would be in Africa. Why aren’t we? No threat to our national security or economy. (...except of course for Nigerian internet scams)

Not a nickel to the Palestinians.

Not a nickel for "nation building."

Give the Iraqis the $450 billion bill for the war, add the cost of using the Marines and Air Force as a collection agency, slaughter every last Islamofascist SOB and add those costs to the bill. Pump into our tankers as much Iraqi oil as necessary to pay the bills. Sell to our oil companies at a fair market price for our domestic consumption. When finished, give the oil fields to the Kurds who are our only allies among Iraqis with a supply of well-guarded and poised missiles aided by the Navy's boomers to keep the Islamofascisti honest and suppressed. If Iran wants to get into the act, we can pump their oil into our tankers too.

Just curious. . .which of these options on Iraq do you think we should have taken:

Not go into Iraq at all

Go into Iraq and withdraw immediately upon the 'fall' of Saddam

Go into Iraq and withdraw immediately upon the capture of Saddam

Continue fighting in Iraq until the new government is stable
