so they end this show on the ‘famous’ Area 51 shoot-down
“so they end this show on the famous Area 51 shoot-down”
Yes, I heard it....what a joke, hahahaha
We got him.
~Brendan~...
Chills still.
“The Quittening” — very clever!
There was a tribute song, to the tune of “Thanks for the Memory” and it was a little better than expected. Phew!
I was on the ArtBellFans mailing list just prior to joining here on FR, and his retirement was the impetus for my first post on Free Republic.
I had a huge debate with MJSETI on the mailing list over UFOs. It was a classic, right at the time that Art got his famous UFO parts in the mail. I predicted that they would be
1) Entierely from the Earth
2) Made of metal available in 1947
3) Sinterized
When the parts were tested by Linda Molton Howe (who probably wasn’t all that qualified), all 3 points were substantiated.
The second round of parts that were sent to Art Bell were disinformation, a red herring to distract from the original parts. So they were actually more interesting because they were probably some of the latest newfangled stuff in a lab somewhere.
If anyone knows how to get in touch with MJSETI, whose real name was Dave Kulgan, I’d be grateful. I think that debate one of the best I’ve ever been involved with. I’m looking for transcripts for a book I’m working on.
Funny you should mention a high school teacher. I heard Jean Shepherd talk about how high school teachers didn't like him, especially with his "Flick Lives" shtick at the time, probably 1970, but I was listening to rebroadcasts 30 years later, on shortwave.
As others have pointed out, Coast is "evolving", and not for the better, imo.
I check out the website and rarely find topics or guests worth listening to any more, so I just delete the files.
It's gotten so bad that LMH and RCH are about the only segments worth listening to any more.
There are exceptions, of course, but they are too rare. There's also too many repeat guests that offer nothing new.
The whole lot of them are DNC plants and fellow travelers for the most part. I have no problem beating up on Bush stuff he's actually responsible or accountable for.
I'd still bring Barbara Simpson back. She's a nice break in the pattern, with her own style (and gadflies).
More real guests, no matter how much they go against the DNC and Algor's play books.
Oh, man! Jean Sheppard. How can I convince you to sell me a copy of what you have?
The biggest message I got, and best service Art did was teach us to ‘think’ for ourselves, the very thing thing the govt fears most.
Something I also learned from the Perry Mason episodes, the way he believed in his hunches and developed them with the evidence.
The mainstream media which is spoiled by running this country with propaganda, along with the the planted govt stories, the truth can be found thinking for yourself, is out there.....
Thanks Art!
As a former insomniac, Art Bell entertained me on many nights. But George is a bore. Punnet is better. Art is the best. He will be missed.
