A man found dead on the side of a road late Sunday has been identified as Selvin Nicolas Medrano Salazar, 23, a native of Guatemala.
...near the intersection of East Park Boulevard and Peachtree Lane. He had suffered from a gunshot wound.
Nobody in the neighborhood heard shots, leading police to believe that the body may have been dumped, said Officer Rick McDonald, a Plano police spokesman.
Mr. Medrano Salazar was staying on the east side of Plano, police said.

Good ol upscale Plano
Dallas proudly advertises the fact that 16,000 anchor babies were born at Parkland Hospital last year, with the cost picked up by the gullible taxpayers of the county, of course. There are now areas of Dallas that look like Juarez. It is very sad for older citizens who are trapped in their homes and can’t sell them except as drop houses.
Hell, I lived in that area about 17 years ago. Same way then, too.
Plano beat the pants of us( Iowa Park) in HS football playoffs in 1968. But in 69 and 70 we won state
You can thank the Federal government for this.
I grew up less than a mile form there. Right off Williamsburg drive. We were one of the original owners of a house on our street. That was in 1971. I stayed on Williamsburg until I graduated from PESH in 1985. I only know of one couple who are still on the old street. They have been in the same house since 71. The area where this body was found is a little newer I think it was built out in the mid to late 70’s. Sad to see what has happened to it. We were always the poorer side of town but it was never considered unsafe when I was growing up. It really started to go downhill in the late 80’s. Now some parts of it are very bad.
Hopefully she is moving to North Carrollton - a great city to raise a family. Great police and quite safe. South Carrollton is a bit more rough, though.
“Good ol upscale Plano”
I used to believe that too when I was growing up in Garland.
East Plano is certainly not upscale, but a good chunck of far West Plano is. There are million dollar houses over there. West Plano actually looks down on East Plano. When my wife tried to join a new mothers group, and they heard she lived in East Plano, they said something like, “Well, maybe you can start your own group over there.”
I’ve been in East Plano for the past ten years now, and trust me, just in the most recent ten years it has definitely gotten worse my friend.
Just dieing in the ditches Americans don’t die in.
lol
Don’t you care for south of the Rio Grande family values?
I live in Flower Mound, and I highly recommend it. It’s close to the airport, and the property taxes are reasonable and the schools are excellent.
Plano has always had poor folks. It’s just that the Mexicans are running out the Blacks (and whites) on the east side.
