Wouldn’t be the first time a RINO tried to make press by “supporting” Democrats.

There was a guy in 2000 from some kind of tech firm. A millionaire. On his site he openly boasted that he never agreed with a candidate as much as he agreed with Al Gore. And when the election was dragged out, he threw financial support to Gore’s recount activity and openly boasted to the press that he was a “Republican” who felt that Al Gore Junior was being cheated.

It is not unheard of for Democrats to vote in the Republican primary to dilute the party’s nominations. Probably was trying to get McCain nominated but wouldn’t vote for him in the general election.

This RINO I’m talking about even registered at FR under his name and posted a number of responses defending Gore.

I did that when I lived in Mass. except I'd register as a RAT so I could vote for Teddy the K's primary opponent. No need to vote in a republican primary since if they could actually scratch up a candidate, he was unopposed in the primary. You could fill in a form and switch back to Independent right then and there.

PS Ted, happy Chappaquiddick anniversary.
