Obama Flak Compares Conservatives to Terrorists
Human Events ^ | July 18, 2007 | Don Profit

Sunday evening on Bruce DuMont’s “Beyond the Beltway” nationally syndicated radio talk show broadcast from Chicago (and its flagship station WLS-AM 890), the country got a taste of the “new political discourse” emanating from Camp Barack Obama.

The roundtable discussion moderated by former NBC sports anchor Tom Shaer, filling in for the vacationing DuMont, featured a journalism professor from Columbia College in Chicago, Democrat strategist Pete Giangreco, and yours truly.

Giangreco is a hired consultant for the Obama campaign and his firm has been retained by Obama to do the campaign’s direct mail, as he mentioned on the show. Giangreco did direct mail work for John Edwards in 2004 and previously worked for Team Clinton as well.

Early into the first hour as a discussion about the War on Terror in Iraq was underway, a 92-year-old D-Day veteran called in to share his belief in the expansionist nature of radical Islamic jihadists to such an extent that he feared forthcoming attacks on American soil.

From there, Tom Shaer offered his take on the threat posed by radical Islam and summarily turned the discussion over for the panelists’ view

Here, Pete Giangreco offered the following, “There are multiple threats from within this country and some of them, you know, do come from the sources that you are taking about (radical Islam). But, you know, Muslims didn’t blow up the building in Oklahoma City or send anthrax through the mail. Those were, you know, some of Dan’s (referring to me) people here, unfortunately, political extremists. They were right-wingers.” Welcome to Barack Obama’s fairytale land where there are no such things as “blue Americans” and “red Americans”, there are just “Americans” -- unless, of course, you disagree with them, and then you are a terrorist.

In the “new politics” we are promised from the Obama campaign, there is evidently no distinction between Timothy McVeigh and William F. Buckley -- they are just a couple of “right-wingers”.

But there is something disturbing in addition to the slanderous content of Giangreco’s statement.

Giangreco’s apparent belief -- and remember, this is a campaign professional who is advising a leading contender for President of the United States -- that a couple of deranged killers is comparable in scale to a global network of terrorists recruiting from a population of one billion Muslims is bereft of any even tangential connection to the reality of the world today.

To compare the Oklahoma City bombers to Islamofacists when discussing the threat of terrorist activity in the U.S. is so intellectually vacuous that it would be deserving of dismissive ridicule were the topic not so serious.

The slanderous aspect of Giangreco’s statement is insulting. The ignorance of it is frightening.

The mind of Hussein Obama is a frightening thing.

“But, you know, Muslims didn’t blow up the building in Oklahoma City or send anthrax through the mail. Those were, you know, some of Dan’s (referring to me) people here, unfortunately, political extremists. They were right-wingers.”

(A) I don’t know who all was involved in blowing up the building in OKC. It is clear that there were more than 2 people involved in the plotting and that some had been plotting for 20 years. I agree that those prosecuted were involved. Just questioning who got cut loose.

(B) NO ONE knows who sent the anthrax and NOTHING has indicated it was a right-winger. There WAS an Islamic death threat made and whoever weaponized the anthrax had it ready “just when” the nation was in turmoil from the 9-11 attacks. Some details point to Atta.

This Giangreco guy knows who sent the anthrax! Has he told the FBI?

Almost every Muslim will make this argument immediately in any debate.

Besides that, he’s wrong: The bombing of Oklahoma City was done by an anti-war activist, Timothy McVeigh. He may have shared conservative beliefs in limited government, but he’s closer to Pat Buchanan or Ron Paul in that regard than to George Bush

So that’s why I keep getting the third degree every time I fly! I wonder how they know?

... not that Paul or Buchanan deserve to be smeared by such an association.

Bill Clinton did the same thing. Politically he was on the ropes until he was able to demonize is political opponents on the right and blame talk radio for the OKC bombing.

He remained on guard prosecuting "the Right" and investigating a non-existent "series" of racist church fires. That was where he focused the FBI while Atta and others were training on US soil for the 9-11 attacks.

The Left puts party before country every time.

And I suppose the Unibomber was a Republican, and the members of ELF voted for Bush?

They deny there is any global network of terrorists. All attacks we encounter are explained away as the work of “lone nuts”.

Same as there was no “Red Menace” despite KGB files to the contrary.

But the Clintons have millions believing there is a “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy”.

The Unabomber was a fan of Gore’s book.

I’m sure Oprah’s fundraising for Obama will greatly encourage more of this kind of political garbage. A huge campaign budget and a source like Oprah will mean that the true colors of Obama will be revealed since they feel they can afford to offend their “enemies”.

Not only that, but there is little doubt - at least among we here - that McVeigh had a connection with Iraq agents, the so-called “John Doe 2”. I am convinced that the Feds (Clintons) executed McVeigh as quickly as they did because of the risk that the truth would come out of the federal prison showing that OKC was another in a long line of islamist attacks on the US and CONUS in particular. I believe the Clintons knew the facts, as they did with TWA 800, and covered them up.

“But, you know, Muslims did blow up the World Trade Center and sent a plane into the Pentagon and they still kill people across the globe every day. Those are, you know, some of Barack Obama’s (referring to the candidate) people there, unfortunately, religious zealots. They are muslims.”

It wasn't 'right-wingers' that murdered women and children in Waco!

And muslims taught Terry Nichols how make the bomb that was used in OKC.

Several eye-witnesses saw several middle-easterners with Terry and Tim in the days before. ...and the day of the bombing.

Oprah thinks she is god of communication (as do some of the nits that watch her.)

But she needs to beware Obama and his wife. I think they will run their mouths a little too much and even manage to pi$$ off some of her ardent worshipers.
