It’s the deadliest SAM system in the world.
However, the only aircraft that the Patriot has ever shot down is an RAF Tornado, IIRC. The Patriot unit located in Saudi Arabia misidentified the IFF returns of a returning Brit Tornado at the early stages of OIF.
Just how many of these targets... errr “fighters” have the maggots built so far?

Patriots only shoot down friendly aircraft, I don’t think there is ever an instance of them actually shooting down an enemy airplane!
Not that I know of, either.
American ADA activity is rare because of our dominance of the battlespace, especially the sky.
Still, it’s good to know that we have the best, just in case.
