Something brewing in Israel
eye on the ground | July 18 2007 | American in Israel

Posted on 07/17/2007 10:56:59 PM PDT by American in Israel

Just a freeper observation, but there are strong indications that next week, during the time of the 9th of AV, that there will be a serious Arab attack on Israel.

The word on the street from the local Palestinians is to quote from a few "There will no longer be a Zionist problem in Palestine this month." Nobody is really talking, but I am getting veiled warnings from Palestinian friends. One such warning was a rather cryptic answer to a pointed question about war with Israel; "Do you know what the 9th of Av is? Every time Israel fights a war on the 9th of Av it looses"... People refuse to talk about war or answer any direct questions. This is very uncharacteristic for Palestinians; usually they are very verbally expressive. The following is what got me to finally write this note to you all. It is an excerpt from an email sent to me by a friend.

Today we had business to do in Jerusalem, so we left our home at 7 am and traveled down the east side of the Galilee, through Bet Shean and past the check point at Sede Trimot in the Jordan Valley.

Once we entered the Jordan Valley as we passed through the Arab agricultural areas we noticed the following which is most unusual;

1. There were no people visible working the in the fields. 2. There were no children along the side of the road.
3. There were no tractors or other farm vehicles anywhere to be seen.
4. All of the vegetables had been completely harvested and the fields were 100% empty.
5. No preparation of the fields was evident for the next planting...Plastic was everywhere from the prior crop.
6. The greenhouses had no plants in them..... 7. The vegetable stands that are normally filled to the brim from the harvest were completely vacant.
8. This is the peak season for growing vegetables in the Jordan Valley, yet everything had been harvested and nothing was growing waiting to be harvested or picked.

We concluded our business in Jerusalem and got back on the road again about 2:45 pm heading north up the Jordan Valley. Again, no people, no fruit stands, no crops, nothing!
Do these Arabs know something is about to happen that we do not know is coming? The 9th of Av is on July 23rd, which is the exact day both Temples in Jerusalem were destroyed hundreds of years apart...

This is just not how things are this time of year normally. The entire valley is the best land for growing crops in Israel and completly under the control of the Arabs. This land is the Palestinian food supply. For some reason they do not believe they need the food this year!

A friend of mine that is politicaly connected mentioned that he was thinking that the first attack date for the Arab League may be the 9th of AV, and the Sept/Oct period as the backup date. He does not believe that Syria will be ready by next week, so he thinks they will use the fall back date. However Hamas/Fatah have their people totally prepared for the first date. They may jump, even if Syria gives the no signal.

As a Biblical side reference, Isaiah 14 28-33, and Zephaniah 2 refer I believe to the destruction of the modern day Palestinians. Interestingly enough it says: " I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.." Zehpaniah 2 indicates that the industrial city of Ashkelon, (third largest city in Israel I believe), will be wiped out, but that a smoke cloud from its direction will go over Gaza, and I think kill most of the inhabitants there. Ashkelon is due north of Gaza and just a kassams throw away.

This is just a few various observations I am bringing together, but they ominously point to the same thing, a major Palestinian ground offensive may take place just next week.

If you believe the Bible, Damascus gets called out specifically for destruction. Damascus is one of the oldest cities in continual existence.

Zec 12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
Zec 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
Zec 12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

And the puzzle pieces are all building to precisely that.

Satan has reportedly convinced the puppet masters that he will win at Armageddon.

Boy are the globalist power mongers going to be in for a big surprise!

That’s an amazing account and I find it fascinating. It’s amazing when you can sense the demonic or the presence of the Holy Spirit in different spots. Can you expand?

God has always required sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin. Certainly you must agree with that, otherwise you reject the teachings of the Old Testament? And are you saying that the Old does not foretell of the Messiah to come and be a sacrifice for sin? Reread Isa 53.

You also state that we are to overcome our own sin with our deeds. A “works” theology. I have a question for you. How do you know if you have been good enough? Is there a time in your life that God comes and tells you the hour of your death and lets you know how many good deeds you must perform to enter the kingdom before you expire? That would be inconsistent with a loving God and not one that I would think many would want to follow. (But unfortunately do) I do not follow Jesus just so I can get a “get out of Hell free card”, if that’s what you might be inclined to think, rather I realize the depravity of my heart and come to Him for forgiveness and grace as no amount of good deeds could outweigh my sin. It is not a matter of (i.e.) 10 good deeds vs. 9 bad. It is that even one small sin declares me blemished and no unclean thing will EVER be able to enter the Kingdom of God. Sin like a cancer grows and it can never be permitted in heaven. God allowed us to experience freewill this go around and only those that chose Him and His Son and whose sin has been atoned will enter.

I will read your links if in turn you read mine. God Bless!

What is the connection between Russia and Syria, since you mentioned it? And also, isn’t Russia supposed to be our “friend?” The world is getting to be a real confused place. It used to be so easy, everything was out in the open, now it seems some prefer to be underground.

The connection between Russia and Syria is that they both hate the Jews, and America. Well, we thought Russia was our "friend", because that's what Washington wanted us to believe. Hey, President Bush looked Putin smack dab in the eyes and saw his soul, LOL! The world is very confusing when everyone is lying through their teeth. About your earlier post regarding getting a bad feeling, but you don't know why? I get them. Animals get them. We live in So Cal, and the night before Japan was hit with an earthquake, the cats were going nuts, our reptiles were sluggish, and we wondered if we were going to get one. Japan is awfully far away though. Must have been something else... Personally I think everyone, no matter what country we live in, needs to be extra vigilant from now on.

I think you confuse my expressing what I find to be a weakness within the body and my sitting in supreme judgment of fellow believers. God is no respecter of persons and you are right in saying I am not their ultimate judge. I was also not calling into question anyones salvation. All of us fall short in many areas, but if we have Christ we are saved. I was rather making a comment on my sincere belief that the church today, based on my personal experience, is very lacking in knowledge and hunger of knowledge regarding the second coming and the events therein for a myriad of reasons. Just the way Satan likes it.

I think it is a VERY dangerous road to be on if you think that one believer can never call out another or group of others as long as what they are doing is “in Jesus’ name”.
This is tolerance theology and that is certainly not what Jesus taught. In fact 1Cor 6:2-3 tells us we are to judge.

Sorry you are misguided in your thoughts on what I believe. You could not be further from the truth on the subject. While I recognize my shortcomings and own sin and allow the Holy Spirit to guide and correct me, I will NEVER hesitate to point out sin, heresy, and apathy within the body when I see it. If you see that as being self-righteous, so be it. Rather I see it as STANDING UP for righteousness. Something I am called to do.

Take care and God Bless.

July 22 is the day before the 9th of Av!)

Why are so many people getting this wrong??? The 9th of 'Av begins monday night and lasts throughout the day of tu*sday. Where is everyone getting this info that moves it up a day???

I mean . . . I know that Yom HaSho'ah, Yom HaZikkaron, and Yom Ha`Atzma'ut were all a day late this year because of a new Kenesset law passed a few years ago, but the Kenesset has no authority over this!

You must read the Old and New in conjunction. They ABSOLUTLY support one another.

Oh boy. I hate seeing this thread of concern for Israel getting highjacked into a theological argument. But here goes.

Something "going with" something else doesn't mean too much, especially if something has been forged specifically to "go with" something that is already accepted. I'm quite sure mormons would tell you if you would only read the Bible and the Book of Mormon together that they "absolutely go together."

Anti-Hillary, your love of Israel is sincere and appreciated, but your faith is circular in nature: you base your beliefs on your composite bible (old and new testaments), yet the only reason you "know" that the "new testament" is a genuine part of the Bible at all is that that's what you have always believed. You've never known a bible that didn't have a "new testament" in it and you just "know" that it's supposed to be there!

Even the self-evidence of the Torah is based not on mere sentiment or fideism but on an actual historical event that occurred before the entire Jewish Nation over 3300 years ago, as well as a continual organic tradition of handing over the authentic original text from generation to generation. Plus the text of the Torah itself contains encoded information that shows it to be the "DNA code" of the universe, but this doesn't come through in translation.

The "bibles" used in the official Jewish ritual don't even contain the Prophets or the Hagiographa but rather only the five books of Moses hand-written on a scroll. This is the eternal part of the Bible. The Prophets and Hagiographa serve only a temporary function. Revelation is not progressive (from a low base to ever greater heights) but rather regressive (from the absolute height of the Torah to ever lower levels). The Jews are certainly more critical thinking than most chr*stians who believe their bible is self-evidently self-authenticating, so please let's not have any of that ridiculous "if you'd only read it you'd believe" stuff. I used to believe that stuff myself until I saw that my assumptions were groundless. If you would ever begin reading the Torah without a pre-supposed belief that the "new testament" is its "fulfillment" you might notice this to.

And considering the number of chr*stians who want a warrior-messiah, that charge against the Jews is really getting old and hypocritical.

Now let's get back to the business at hand . . . okay???

Well we will have to respectfully agree to disagree. But let me close by commenting on your last statement... That we Christians want a “warrior like Messiah that will charge against the Jews” is just not so. The absolute opposite is true of what we believe. It is Satan and his puppet nations and demons, etc. that will be leading the charge against the Jews and it is the Triune God that will hide and protect them and once again reach out to them in truth.

My prayers to you and to the nation of Israel.
