It was only when pollution literally started to bloom across the lakes of China earlier this summer that the country's leaders finally sounded full alarm on the environment.

Blue-green algae blooms choked Lake Taihu - China's third biggest source of freshwater - in May, forcing 5 million people to use bottled water for drinking and bathing.

China has become exactly what the enviro-whacko’s pretend that the US and the west is or was on the brink of....but in this case, it is not snail darters, it is human beings!

Any Greenpeace or ELF or Sierra Club in China? No, China would be hazardous to their health in more ways than pollution. Maybe algore to the rescue? doubt it.

My, my. How disappointing. Chairman Mao must be turning in his grave to think that good communists are not good stewards of the environment. For shame!!

I’ve noticed different countries and cultures have different ways of dealing with scandals. In China, it seems that if the accused is not a Party member, he is executed. If the guilty party is a Party member, a non-Party member is accused and executed. In Japan, though, it seems that whether an accused is guilty or not he kills himself for bringing on this shame. In many Muslim countries, if the guilty party is a female, she is stoned to death. If the guilty party is a male, however, the female is still stoned. In America, if the accused is a Republican, guilty or not he is hounded to resign and then ridiculed until death. If the accused is a Democrat and has not been proved guilty, he denies everything and skates. And if proof is found he goes to rehab.

China's environmental problems grow daily, no regulations and what little there are are not enforced.

The government has done little to stop the catastrophe awaiting them by relying on coal for power, I've read another power plant power by coal comes on line every week.

It's inevitable an occurrence such as the event in 1952 when The Great Smog of 1952 darkened the streets of London and killed approximately 4,000 people in the short time of 4 days (a further 8,000 died from its effects in the following weeks and months.

This will pale in comparison to the toll that will eventually occur in China.

Fly across the country and you find city after city enveloped in the same seemingly endless grey haze. Officials blame cement factories, coal plants and burgeoning traffic on the roads.

So why isn't Algore and the global warming nazis complaining about China, the most polluted country on the face of the earth?

The same reason NOW and Hillary could care less about real women’s rights issues in Isamic countries.

There is no power to be gained or money to be made by taking such substantive stances.

I believe it’s because they know China wouldn’t care and any demonstrations would be quickly broken up using tanks and guns.
