Back in my day, all the guys carried pocket knives and that mainly to clean their fingernails, but machets are taking it to a whole new level.

“Mr Falconer says police and governments are afraid to publicly identify the problem because of a misguided sense of political correctness.

“Because there’s often an ethnicity factor getting involved, particularly where there’s gangs and weapons combined, I think there’s a lot of political correctness and super-sensitivity about whether or not by nominating gangs and weapons in the same breath, and then being asked were they any particular groups involved, and then you start talking about specific ethnic groups,” he said. “

crap...Aus was one of the last bastions of commonsense. The rancid viral infection of political correctness is taking hold, this is not good.

I would suggest using a Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguisher and aim for the face.

They need to ban those horrible knives.

I’ve carried a knife since getting a cub scout knife in 1950. I’ve worn out more than a few machetes. The knives don’t force anyone to act like a savage, that seems to come naturally these days.

"Because there's often an ethnicity factor getting involved, particularly where there's gangs and weapons combined,

Is the newest euphemism to avoid saying "members of the Religion of Peace"?

The problem is knaves, not knives; gangs, not guns.

i’ve carried at least one every day since i got my first knife around 12. i’ve worn out plenty of pocket knives and a couple hunting knives, yet i’ve never attacked someone with one of them.
a good knife is the handiest tool on the planet, and you’ll never catch me without one.

I just got back from Boy Scout camp. Lots and lots of knives.

Machetes can take care of more dirt than a pocket knife. I’d prefer a Samuari Sword myself.

It's not just Boy Scout camp. My youngest (10) spent a week at a Christian camp where campers are encouraged to bring a folding knife, if their parents approve. If other parents do not approve, they can keep their kids at home!

No one was stabbed. No eyes got put out. There may have been some cuts, but there is a nurse on site. The kids had a blast! A taste of responsibility and loads of fun.

Never bring a knife to a gunfight!!!
Make sure that the caliber of your primary handgun starts with 4!
If THAT is not possible try to have the slide of your handgun read 9X23!
Have two handguns if possible. Three, if you are not planning any swimming.
Each bullet has a trial attorney attached.
If you HAVE to shoot someone(HAVE to)shoot them well in order that conflicts in relating what occured are mitigated.

I still carry each day. Most days two. And a utility folder as well(Emerson Mini-Commander)
No need or demand to retreat from trouble, but it is wise to do so. If you cannot, well,...better to be prepared.

About 10 years ago I picked up a Kabar, and just put it in a drawer. My grandson turned 15 last month, now the Kabar is in his locker, with a good Arkansas hone. He isn’t a baby any more, I don’t expect him to act like one.

Actually I got the Idea from an anime. However after playing with canned air I’ve learned that it could work. Unfortunately I can’t find the scene on youtube.

Sadly though it’s the only useful weapon I could carry on my person in the state of IL. I would get strange looks but they would have to change the law just for me.
