Doha - Ma'an - Khalid Mash'al, head of Hamas' political bureau, said that his movement is ready to return control of Palestinian Authority departments in the Gaza Strip, except the security services, to President Mahmoud Abbas. He said "Hamas will not hand over the security departments before rebuilding and reforming them on a national criteria, [not] factionalism."
Speaking to the press in Doha, Qatar, Mash'al said that "dialogue amongst Palestinian factions is critical to contain the recent crisis". He maintained that other Arab countries, such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia, also support interfactional talks as a means of resolving the conflict.
Mash'al reiterated Hamas' opposition to the resumption of security contacts between Israel and the Abbas' West Bank emergency government, a move he believes is designed to "disarm the resistance." Mash'al said Hamas is making contacts with Arab states, stressing that his movement does not intend to create, as they have been accused, an "Islamic emirate" in the Gaza Strip.
Mash'al warned that there are files which "when will be opened they will reveal the size of the crimes committed in the strip by the security people."
You broke it you own it!..Let’s see how these POSs govern..oh my bad they can’t so now they want to give the responsibility and blame to Abbas...riiiiiggggghhhhttt...

Makes perfect sense. A likely outcome, Fatah will be shown to be corrupt, they'll promise to be nice, Hamas will be incorporated into the security forces, there'll be one government in a few months and our aid will continue. Stupid terrorists aren't, they know how to play the west.
So, they are saying they will pass off all the work and responsibility but keep all the power. Nice gig if you can get it.
You are 100% right, This is for media consumption. You know the factions don’t get along, right!! I read that the NIE states that Al Quaeda has bases in Iran (which I have thought from the fall of Afghanistan) but the MSM/DNC continue to say “The Sunnis and Shias don’t get along.
Well its been proven they kill each other, but when it comes to killing “infidels” they will join forces. Its been that way since the beginning of islam, but the people ignorant of how evil islam is still fall for it to this day.
That would be a reiteration of the “Unity government”: and would warrent a futher cut off of funds to Hamas-Fatah becuause hamas is offically listed as a terrorist org, (of course Fatah is too, but they are “less radical”-Barf).
Yes it would, and I predict that if it happens, we will continue aid.
Actually Fatah is not a designated terror organization, al Aska Martyrs brigades, their "military" arm is, thus we deal with Fatah.
If you recall, before the Gaza takeover, GWB was talking about funneling aid to the PLO (5 terror groups among their 2 dozen or so members) as a way of getting funds to Fatah, the largest PLO member. In similar manner the State Dept. was talking about the military side of Hamas, as distinct from the political. Just as Condi claimed during the elections that those running on the Hamas slate were businessmen, not terrorists.
If it comes to that we'll use that distinction, that the Hamas legislative members aren't terrorists, thus we can provide aid.
Underlying all of this is the fact that GWB is determined to see a palestinian state by the end of his term, and he'll do what needs to be done, largely ignoring palestinian behaivior, to get one.
Unfortunately so is Olmert; Israel needs Netanyahu (sp?), Now.
