I live in DC, so I don’t know a whole lot about guns (only criminals do around here), but I was wondering the same thing?!
This was probably a pellet rifle powered by a CO2 cartridge rather than a Daisy BB gun. The gas cartridge can generate enough force to propel the pellet through the skull causing brain damage.
