ORANGE - It took 10 years and a grandchild to convince Garden Grove resident Arturo Cervantes to become a U.S. citizen and a nudge from a national citizenship campaign.
While the 40-year-old assistant warehouse supervisor pined for his native Mexico, Cervantes abandoned the idea of returning the day he became a grandfather. His wife saw a television ad about help filling out citizenship forms and he started surfing the Web to see how he could apply.

How many of these applicants are illegal aliens?
They would all have to be legal to apply for citizenship. Mr. Cervantes and all other applicants must be a Resident Alien for at least five years minimum (I think)to meet the qualifications for citizenship.
