You are correct in noting that the FR forum software does not allow Gannett http's in the Source field. Generally, when posting from a Gannett source you should place the link in the part of the post where you would otherwise place the text of the article. If you wish, you should then click Report Abuse and ask to have the link inserted where it otherwise should have been.

As for The Detroit News, I have not seen where it has been "sold" by Gannett and I am not aware of the status of its Joint Operating Agreement with The Detroit Free Press. Suffice it to say that, if the two editorial pages are still one and the same, it is not likely that The Detroit News will be removed from the Gannett "list." For your safety, please understand.
