I'll grant that their attitude toward sex has decoupled it from the idea of it creating babies, and I suppose that plays into a more general irresponsibility.

Overall, though, I think that's just a part of the larger problem, that being the general "spoiled-ness" of the last few generations. We're so used to getting and doing what we want to do, and there are so few real consequences for making bad choices, that it becomes easy to put ourselves and our own wishes ahead of anything or anybody else.

I suppose this is the hallmark of a decadent society. Eventually, something will have to go "snap," and we'll see what happens to the likes of Ronda and Dave.

The author is a ditz.

She writes for Huffington Post, one of her recent columns being 'Like, health care in my tiny town in Mexico is SOOO cheap compared to New York City! How come America's health care can't be as cheap?'.

Because Mexico isn't filled with comparatively wealthy gringas who can pay for pocket change? Because comparatively wealthy gringas aren't subsidizing zillions of illegals giving birth in Los Angeles?

I hear that cow head tacos sold on the street are pretty cheap too. Like, how come American tacos aren't this cheap?

I think the cartoonist has made his/her own judgment.

I think the illustration is brilliant. I could not think of a visual image that would better sum up the situation. The situation is unpleasant, and so is the image.

The sad thing is, this woman is the very flower of liberal education and social development. She writes for the New York Times, after all. And she is surprised when she gets pregnant while relying on a contraceptive sponge.
