This Tour looks very open. But today’s stage will proably give us some answers...

Yesterday was a good finish, although a few times during the final descent I thought Linus (sp) was going to fly off the course.

Today, I think the boys get separated from the men! We’re headed over to mom’s for Sunday dinner, but, I hope I can sneak away to the TV room to watch the action.

You ain’t the only one. I was watching with friends and we all noticed that Linus looked mostly out of it — he almost hit that team car (I’ve done similar and I wasn’t racing) and came remarkably close to the wall (and the cliff it protected) on the downhill.

Hincapie is in the lead group - still, it’s a long day of climbing ahead of the riders.

Here we go - at the base of the first of today’s 3 cat 1s. Now the TdF starts.

Again last night, the extended primetime ran over by 1+ hour. I understand the odd fluke, but it’s almost daily with these people. Whasssup with that? And with a rebroadcast that’s known to be a repackage/condensing!

In order not to miss anything, I need to tivo 4hrs in the morning, plus whatever is in the grid after the live show (which, confusingly, is often a rebroadcast of what I just watched, joined in progress without explanation after the bleedover is finished). Same with the primetime, if wanted.

I don’t understand why they can’t figure this out better.

On their way up towards Hautville (2nd big climb today) and the Dane Rasmussen is in front doing all the work for the three leaders. In the lead by about 50 sec.

O’Grady taken to hospital but according to race doctor probably nothing broken. Rogers looks on the verge of abandonning. Has hurt his shoulder and in severe pains.

The leaders, Rasmussen, Arroyo and Colom, have passed the second peak and are almost 5 min in front of the second group consisting of 10 riders. Rasmussen did all the work up the mountain.

Rasmussen by himself!!

Time down to the 10-group of pursuers with among others Hincapie about 5’30’’.

Lots of action behind Rasmussen. The pursuers are starting to pull in some time but only 15 k to the top and end of the stage now.
