China has ordered hotels in the capital to keep rooms no cooler than 26 degrees in summer and no warmer than 20 degrees in the winter in a bid to save energy.
Beijing Vice-Mayor Ding Xiangyang said the orders had to be obeyed, unlike previous schemes in which hotels were urged gently.
Beijing's consumption of power is increasing every year, and its hotel industry is a major consumer of electricity.
All hotels with Olympics contracts were urged to meet state standards for "green hotels" before the end of this year.
"The standards require hotels to use water-saving equipment, install power-saving light bulbs and wash their linen less frequently," the China Daily said.

OK the temperature thing isn’t that bad. Knowing you’ll be sleeping on week-old bed sheets is entirely another problem.

Once a month I guess. Then again... I’m the only one sleeping in the bed. I know what bugs, if any, are going to be in there chewing on me in the middle of the night.
Apparently you have no problem sleeping on someone elses dirty sheets.

If I have a guest, I change every nite. If I don’t have a guest, I change when it looks like they need it.
Coin-operated heater/coolers?
Gorillas make a new bed each night. That’s one of the reasons they don’t have a flea problem.

Yeahbut...I’m the only one sleeping on them, not a succession of scurvy tourists. And, once a week, thank you very much.
Human comfort level is 68-78 degrees, so they are right on the money.
I change mine every day, it’s like my mother always told me, “What if you had an accident and had to go to the hospitsl?”.
Yeah these are basically the standard temperatures in the US too.

Well, that saying was for underwear. And my philosophy still holds true for underwear. If I have a guest, every night, otherwise, when it looks like I need it. hehe
