what’s “our” side?

I’m on the side that promotes factual and honest information, not hit and smear pieces in an attempt to character assassinate in an attempt to silence someone...much as is composed of people on this thread.

"So who said it? Ron Paul or Cindy Sheehan? Crazy hit piece or commenting on something someone else said."

I'm guessing that it's a hit piece. And it seems to have worked very well. Funny how easy it is for those in the MSM to dupe even the sharpest among us. Of course it may be true! But I doubt it.

Not having listened to Ron Paul’s own words before posting, I admit that my reaction was kneejerk.

From...”Endgame: Blueprint to Global Enslavement” to Alex Jones long conspiratorial lead in, Ron Paul said what he said and then went into talking point mode.

“Every day we’re in worse shape”. I think that every day we are in better shape and terrorists are in worse shape.

...”the policies are seriously flawed” I think the reasons for going into Iraq were just and that Iraq and Afghanistan has been the greatest success story in the history of the armed forces of The United States of America (with the help of coalition partners, Afghans and Iraqis).

“They will not accept the fact that it’s failed.” I disagree.

“Eventually it’s going to end. I just wish it would end more gracefully than waiting for a total collapse of our economy.” I think in and of itself, it will never cause a total collapse of our economy.

The rest of the interview trails off into other issues, many of which (on a one-time listen through) I agree with Ron Paul on. I am too tired to review the remainder.

I think that Ron Paul has been an outstanding congressman for his constituents and my few disagreements with him, I have just listed. Overall in his career he would have been a good congressman where I live in Michigan (although I have a very good congressman in Thaddeus McCotter). In this fade-to-sleep state, I think this has been somewhat overblown. (I never did get around to reading much of anything else on the thread other than your comments.)

nicmarlo, thanks for your input and support of Ron Paul and your input on the immigration threads. You’re a great American.

SoldierDad, thanks to you, your son and his friends, and your family. America’s finest.

Regards to you both.

Thank you for your input, PGalt. Agree/disagree with what Ron Paul said, I believe you are correct in your thoughts that, this has been somewhat overblown, at the very least, I might add.

....The rest of the interview trails off into other issues, many of which (on a one-time listen through) I agree with Ron Paul on.

The article headline was made to create that kneejerk reaction....

As I said on up the thread, let Ron Paul sink or swim on what he actually says or does, by commission or omission. I don't go for tactics which are but to silence the "competition" through character assassination. That's a Clintonesque/DUmmie tactic and is beneath the dignity of any person who claims to be a conservative. We're better than that.

As far as supporting Ron Paul, what I support most is a candidate who holds dear to him this nation's sovereignty, the U.S. Constitution, and our Bill of Rights. Those are major issues and should be of concern about every candidate. Ron Paul comes as close to a Constitutionalist as can be found out there, imho, and for that, I support him 100%. I would wish the other candidates would be more like him in that.

As far as all of his policy stances, I am not in complete agreement. Nevertheless, he deserves to be heard and go through an honest vetting process. That's the American way.

Thanks again for your input, and your kind remarks. Enjoy the rest of your evening, PGalt.

To be honest, I don't believe anyone in D.C. and haven't for some years now. Here we are supposed to be at war, and this president, this administration, this congress and senate have actually aided and abetted a massive illegal invasion of our country, during wartime.

Based on their actions, I am extremely suspicious of our leaders, and those elected to represent us.

Why do the networks continue to allow him to debate with serious GOP candidates?

At this point, because he is a freak candidate and he can bring in ratings by doing what he is doing.

Now if he was a dem, and this was a dem primary, he would not make the cut.

Too bad it’s not true.

>> Think what you will of libertarian Texas congressman Ron Paul, but I’m crying foul over this post to the Politico’s “Crypt” blog: “Ron Paul warns of staged terror attack.” Paul simply did not say that the government is planning a fake terror attack, and to say otherwise is journalistic malpractice.

My first reaction to the Politico headline — most people’s reaction, I’m sure — was that Paul should not be elected or defeated, but institutionalized. Then I read what is actually posted there, and I saw no quote from Paul about a “staged terrorist attack.” I did see a summary by Politico blogger Dan Reilly that says Paul “clearly insinuated that the administration would not be above staging an incident to revive flagging support.”

So I listened to the interview, trying to find what Reilly describes. And I listened to it again. And again. And I heard nothing of the sort.

What I did hear was an unhinged radio host ask Paul a wide-ranging, minute-long, wacky question about terrorism, Bush the “dictator,” and neo-cons that ended with “How much danger are we in of some new Gulf of Tonkin provocation?” Paul begins his answer with, ”Well, I think we’re in great danger of it — we’re in danger in many ways.” But as he continues, Paul says nothing about a staged terror attack or the Gulf of Tonkin. Rather, he goes into his usual schtick, complaining about the “great danger” involved in the loss of “civil liberties” and the evils of U.S. Iraq policy. Then he speaks to the likelihood of a real terrorist attack — not a staged attack: <<

That’s a great update to the whole story.

In light of this new information, I apologize for my words.

Didn’t the Republican candidates recently have a debate that The Politico hosted?

It sounds like those Republicans and The Politico both ought to have their their collective heads examined.

I just think it’s a shame that the only true Constitutionalist, small government conservative in the Pub primary field is continually defamed by BushBot zombies.
