Didn’t that FReekin’ genius ManBearPig, aka Algore, have a hard time breaking 1200?

Manbearpig, aka Albert Gore, got a very respectable 1355 V+M SAT score. However, his college roommate reported that he smoked marijuana every day. If marijuana were truly harmless, wouldn’t many nations legalize it? I strongly suspect that Al Gore’s youthful brilliance was dulled by this. It was Kerry that had a hard time breaking 1200. Bush got higher SATs than Kerry, but you’ll never see that in the NYT.

As much as I read of this article, and I’ll go back to read more, they were talking about Freshman grades in introductory courses. I would like to see how well the SAT predicts grades in hard Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and Mathematics in Junior and Senior years, not just Freshman year, before I would jump to conclusions on this.

Many high scorers I knew on the SAT were unchallenged by public grade school education. Many needed to actually study in college when they encountered tough courses. Some had not learned to study, and it was this, not their abilities, that affected their grades.
