Well, here's the author. It's easy to see her perspective in this.

Exactly. She is not likely to attract a successful, charming mate her own age.

When you look at Jeri Thompson, she is not THAT good looking for a 40 year old woman. Yes, she is above average in looks, and much better looking than the average wife of a man Fred's age, but not in the top 1% of attractive 40 year old women, or even the top 5%

I’m not jealous. I’m happily married to a man my age and we do just fine together. My gripe isn’t really so much with men like Fred who think with their groins as it is with the young women who really are nothing more or less than Gold-Diggers. After all, you seldom see this age discrepancy in marriages between poor old men and young hotties.

I don't like the whole idea of young women marrying old wealthy men. I don't believe it is about love whether Larry King does it, Donald Trump did it, Tony Randall did it, or even Fred Astaire did it. I don't believe Anna Nicole Smith "just" loved 89 year old billionaire Marshall and didn't care a thing about his money. If anyone believes any of these other incredibly young women really "just" love these incredibly wealthy old men, I've got a bridge for sale. That includes the Thompson marriage and I wouldn't vote for Fred just based on knowing about his May/Decemeber marriage. If a man has no sense in his private life, how much sense can have anywhere else?

One: Fred's wife doesn't qualify for "young". She is over 40, that is NOT young, as a matter of fact 35 is middle aged so 40 is past middle age. Two: Who the he** are you to judge if someone is loved by another or not? Sure, there are very young women, such as Anna Nicole, that marry incredibly old men for their money but some marriages with a few years difference are done for love. Basing your decision to NOT vote for Fred on the fact his wife is 40 years old is just a tad stupid IMO, either that or you are a DU plant trying to stir up trouble.

This whole issue about Fred's wife is a non issue and just another example of the Liberal press trying to hurt a conservative candidate anyway they can.
