how far we have fallen from the founding fathers. From a Christian Nation to persecuting Christians for their beliefs.

“..Gandhi,” a man “who gave his life for peace,..”

I have worked with many Indian engineers, and I found most of them to have a deep dislike of Ghandi.

I know I must accept that there will be other religions represented by prayer in the senate or risk being intolerant. But I think I’d rather there be NO prayer than have to listen to a hindu or muslim prayer. If I were a Senator I would have to wear ear plugs or say a Christian prayer to myself.

Pot...kettle black. The man’s prayer was less idolatrous than the protest, IMO.

Zechariah 14:9

Malachi 3:6

Our First Amendment shouldn’t be violated by the new Marcionists or anyone else. And I don’t want to see religious edicts in a nation that was built on an escape from those.

Patriots? You must be kidding.

This is the worst in religious intolerence portrayed by sup[posedly Christian-Americans in a long line of such incidents. And as some poster said eleswhere, it's downright rude.

What is it about some Christians who feel abused unless the government supports their particular nrand of religion?

The “patriots” just made usefull idiots of themselves.. what they did was add more fuel to the fire for those who blame everything on Christians or Christianity...

I bet the Dims were probably quite smug when the patriots starting spouting off...

our heavenly Father

According to Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul, Reid's heavenly father is the "god of this world," none other than Satan himself. In this act of rebellion, Reid has clearly exposed himself as "a child of darkness," "a child of the devil," according to the Apostle John. Here is Harry Reid primary problem, as well as with other liberals.

Neither Patriots nor Christian.

It is inexcusable to interrupt religious ceremonies, even if they aren't yours. "You who hate idols, why do you rob temples?" (Rom 2:22). Sacrilige to other's deeply-held beliefs is not justified Christianity. Instead, it is either insecurity or false piety.

You really have to wonder at all these pro-Fairness Doctrine, pro-Affimative Action hypocrites.

I see that so many Free Republic posters, being raised in a post sixties culture, find it only "fair" that we must artificially introduce a Hindu prayer into a government proceeding because after all we have had almost four hundred years of American will and insistance that Christian prayers be included into nearly all government proceedings, and that's just not fair.

The American people did not ask for a Hindu prayer, but then again they did not ask for having homosexuality forced upon their children in their schools either -- and a lot of other liberal social engineering.

But according to the anti-christian left, all these new left "get-even-with-thems" are only fair and should be used as a way to reinvent the American culture by whittling down the influence of Christianity voluntarily passed down as inheritance from parent to child.

This is just another variation of the fairness doctrine, only in this case the affirmative action has a thin veil over it and makes the neo-open-minded feel like a proud, liberated, twenty-first century 'renaissance man'.

Excellent! That is awesome.

Now if we can just find someone to do it when someone like Jesse Jackson tries to pray!
