Don’t pay much attention to what the fed. rangers and interpreters say about those sites, Chaco included. Many times they will color their presentations with a huge load of feel-good or gobal warming BS. You probably won’t have the time, but the best bet is to get a PRIVATE archaeologist,as opposed to fed. archaeologist, to show the sites to you. There are lots of archaeologists in NM, and a few of them are very good. Many times they will be touring the sites themselves and you can learn a lot from them. Most never get tired of visiting Chaco. Have a great trip to my home (but ultra liberal) state!
