"Fear mongering" is an utterly bogus taunt used by libs to bash conservatives.

If "fear" is not one of the things in the mind of a voter when he enters the booth, then he is not intelligent enough to be allowed to vote. Governments do as least as much evil in this world as they do good. Fear is healthy.

And as soon as the libs finish bashing conservatism as "the politics of fear," they remind the crowd that if conservaties are elected social security will be bankrupted and dragging black people to death will be made legal.

I don't think much of your arguments on this thread in general, but seriously, I urge you to bury for all time this bashing of people for arousing "fear" in a political debate. It is a bad play from the other team's playbook. As long as there is government, there will be fear.

Please. Can you say that no one opposing the bill ever said anything even remotely inflammatory. When certain folks say that we are being overrun by a horde or that we are being invaded by uneducated people that don't have a viable culture or share our values, that is over the top rhetoric. It is also oversimplistic.

Sure the illegals and the border are SERIOUS problems, but I have lived near the border and dealt with alot of them over the years and many, apart from their illegal status, are more of a contribution to our nation than some of the child molestin' dope smoking pond scum that are native born Americans. Besides a large portion of illegal population came here legally and are here on expire visas.

That's the reason why I stayed out of the debate. There was alot of blather on both sides. It was poorly debated and too emotionally charged to discuss rationally. Even now, a week or so after the bill was buried, people don't want to let it go. Amazing...
