More importantly, the elected government of Iraq has requested our military presence, which is there pursuant to that request (and to a UN mandate).

People who want to retreat are saying

1. we should ignore the UN mandate, and

2. we should abandon the constitutional, elected Iraqi government and ignore its plea for help.

They should be forced to explain why. Because they find it icky to see news from Iraq on TV?

It seems to me, even in the video, that theywant us to stay...What is so hard about realizing that if we don't get things to a reasonable level there, al-quaida will be here next? That's to much for a lib to contemplate...

You don't even have to go that far with the argument.. it's enough to say that if we don't settle things down there, Al Qaeda will form a mini Al Qaeda-stan haven in Iraq. That's bad enough.

Isn't it? You know, a haven, the thing supposedly "everyone" agreed in ~2002 we could not tolerate?

Which reminds me, remember when the left actually pretended to care about combatting Al Qaeda, denying them haven, etc.? Heh. Those were the good old days :)
