NCAA can't really take OU's wins away

If that's the case, then I want our 1984 SEC Title back! (If only we could have played BYU that year, we would have now had three National Championships)

Agreed, the Galen Hall UF teams were incredible. Spurrier is given credit for the rising of UF, but it really started a few years before that with Charlie Pell and Galen Hall.

To Spurrier's credit he did get the UGA monkey off of UF's back but I believe that has more to do with Dooley retiring.

Back to your point, I like Oklahoma historically but their current crop of fans seem very naive. OU was given a very light "punishment" for the situation. The current OU fans don't seem to realize that the school itself can be totally innocent of any wrongdoing but the NCAA is still going hammer you if players receive outside benefits - it is unfair, but that is the way the NCAA operates.

And wasn't it in SOS's first year as coach they won the SEC but didn't get to keep that one either because of "sanctions?" 1990?
