Washington (CNSNews.com) -- Three Christian protestors were removed from the U.S. Senate chamber's observation gallery Thursday when they disrupted the morning prayer -- being delivered for the first time in history by a Hindu chaplain.
The three unidentified protestors began praying loudly when Rajan Zed, a Hindu chaplain from Nevada, started praying. The demonstrators prayed for forgiveness from Jesus Christ for "betraying" the Christian tradition.
Senate security officers quickly removed the demonstrators, and Zed continued with his prayer for peace. "May our study be enlightening," he said, noting that "by devotion to selfless work we gain the supreme goal of life."
Zed addressed his prayer to "the supreme one" and requested that "he stimulate and illuminate our minds."
"May yours spirits be as one," Zed said. "Peace, peace, peace be unto all." He added a prayer of comfort for the family of Lady Bird Johnson, the former First Lady who died Wednesday at 94.
Zed addressed a mainly empty Senate chamber. Among other staff, only Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) were present for the opening invocation and Pledge of Allegiance. Reid's office sponsored Zed's request to serve as a guest chaplain. Inhofe was there to deliver a speech moments later on the Fairness Doctrine.

No, but as a Christian I can allow that someone else might believe there are other gods to pray to no matter how I wrong I might think they are. As a Christian, I can respect that person's exercise of free will and leave the judgement up to God himself.
i know exactly 9 hindus. they all hate non hindus except for one of the 9. he said that his entire family and extended famly here and in india all hate non hindus...especially americans.
he hated also until he met and overtime began to love my daughter. his family threatened him if he did not break up with her....they act the same as muslims.

I always felt that US was a more Christian country than India was a Hindu countryI don't know about that. We don't have a party like the BJP winning elections here, let alone a gang of Christian thugs anything like the RSS. And if any Christian groups ran around attacking celebrants of "unchristian" holidays, they'd get their clintons kicked...and then arrested.

India has had atleast 1 defense minister and 1 chief of airforce who were Christians.. we even had 3 presidents and 1 airforce chief who were muslims.. on the other hand, US doesnt have any non-judeochristian representation in its country’s top brass. Its common knowledge that if US troops are told to be led by a Hindu, your army itself would revolt.
Further, the general who led Indian troops to victory over Pakistan in the Bangladeshi war was an Indian JEW while his boss, India’s first chief of staff, was a Zoroastrian.
Agreed BJP/RSS exist in India, but US has something worse - KKK, DOC, Blackpanthers, Westboro Church and such scums of the worst kind that are way worse than even our communists, let alone the BJP and RSS.
