Only in the USA. A group flies planes into buildings and then gets special privileges, so that everyone is afraid to say anything about them.

I will respect Muslim Americans to the extent that they respect me.I’m not going through life thinking that every Muslim I see is an American patriot and I plan on being prepared.

In the event an attack should occur Mike Chertoff should lose his head.Politically that is. Because from what I see,he has done zip during the time he’s been in office.

Chertoff strikes me as the guy behind the betting cage, wearing a green visor and a 'something' around his right bicep.

He just has no credibility...

I'll bite back.

This American disrespects them, every one.

They embrace a psudeo-religious creed that fundamentally and irrevocably opposed to everything we of The West embrace as freedom.

I will consider "respecting" American Muslims who renounce Islam for another faith. Then, and ONLY then, will I be able to trust or respect them.

Sorry if you don't like that, but that's the way it is with me.

I will go so far as to say, that it is also that way for a considerable number of other posters in this forum. - John

[rounding applause, standing ovation}

Amen Brother..

There definitely are some making the stand, but for whatever reason, we don’t hear too much about it.

Here are a couple, but I sure wish more would join in with them,

I agree with your points.
That does not invalidate mine.

I believe that if there’s another terrorist attack many U.S. citizens will strike out at Muslims.
I believe that our leaders know this too.
I believe they are trying not to fan the flames of anti-Muslim sentiment.

You said our leaders have to say this stuff. I disagree. It is long overdue that Muslims in America be forced to confront the fact that, around the globe, their religion is NOT a religion of peace. It is NOT a religion of tolerance of other religions. And as such, it is an affront to this country's bedrock beliefs of religious tolerance.

This isn't just an abstract for me. My first wife was a Christian immigrant from Pakistan. Her mother was shot at twice in Pakistan for preaching the Gospels. Islam was intolerant back then, and it remains intolerant to this day. It cannot, in its current state, peacefully co-exist over the long run with other religions. Our leaders, if they fail to call on it to confront that reality, are failing our core Constitutional principles. After all, we had no problem blacklisting Communists in the past. Islam is just as much a threat to our values, if not more.

I believe that if there’s another terrorist attack many U.S. citizens will strike out at Muslims. I believe that our leaders know this too. I believe they are trying not to fan the flames of anti-Muslim sentiment.

Quite frankly, it is up to American Islam to prevent such.

I shout your viewpoints at every opportunity.

Can you imagine the President or his cabinet telling the Muslim world:
“You better start condemning the actions of terrorists, or I won’t be able to protect you from the American people.”
?????

There aren’t a lot of Muslims who are running off to join CAIR.

How many moslems are running off to join the Marines?

We are at the beck and call of the Saudis who support Muslim terror all over the world ..and this is proof of that.

We will wake up when the Saudi establishment is either overthrown or they cut us off the oil stream.

Well, quite frankly, that needs to be said, sooner or later. The sooner, the better. Not just for us, but for them.

Vigilantism is as much a scourge on civilization and society as islamofascism.

Paul Revere and the 'embattled farmers' who 'fired the shot heard 'round the world' were precisely "vigilantes." But I suppose you could call them the unwashed masses if you wanted to.

Maybe you feel the same way about the vigilantes who aided downed American flyers in occupied Europe during WW II. Probably they were undermining law and order too.

Or maybe you just don't know what the term really means.

How many are speaking out against it? Exactly.

If i’m in the free US and I can’t say the bums are slandering my religion or ask where my zakat at the mosque goes... there’s a problem.

I’m not even asking for the million man march against terror here.

How many are here again? But they can decide who not to take in a cab, demand footbaths, prayers in schools, not have to scan the pork products, preach hate on campuses.

As far as respecting the rights of Americans...

Not that it was fine when you were not to attack the country that hosts you, but that’s happening now and we still don’t hear a peep.

Moderate Muslims may exist...but Moderate Islam does not.

Islam’s own ideology should make non-adherents suspect it’s adherents.

Yes, it is ridiculous but some here can't deal with anything other than black and white ergo in their minds all Muslims are terrorists.

Your statement is as ridiculous as those you intend to criticize. Let's go back to basics. All non Muslims are under attack by evil Muslims that want to convert you, subdue you, or kill you. These are the only choices they will allow you. In the aggregate these are the only choices our civilization is allowed. The practitioners of this evil; dress as civilians, act as civilians, and hide among civilians. The evil ones will break any law, tell any lie, and practice any subterfuge, and kill, wound or maim anyone or anything that is not Muslim. Indeed even Muslims that do not believe as they do. To perpetuate this activity they hide in Muslim countries and communities around the world. In these communities the evil ones are given aid and comfort while they wage political, economic, and terrorist war against their host countries. In the Muslim communities there is a significant failure to assimilate. IMHO this is because Islam is as much a political movement as a religion. Thus, the Muslim community often represents a foreign colony in their host countries. The center of these colonies activities are the Mosques. In the Muslim communities one will find a significant number of innocents, fine decent people you would be proud to call friends. You will also find inactive sympathizers that may generally agree with the evil ones but do not participate in support or violent activities. Then we have the active sympathizers that support the evil ones in all number of ways such as but not limited to; money, food, intelligence, safe housing, psi ops, political attacks, recruitment etc. Then we have the active participants that engage in violent attacks and intimidation. The real problem, we cannot easily and conclusively identify any of these people. Heck, following 9/11, GWB pronounced Islam a religion of peace in the presence of a Muslim leader that had previously campaigned in support of Hizbollaugh and against Israeli and America. So it is not unreasonable for host countries to expect the Muslim communities to help ferret out and report the evil ones in their midst. And this has happened but not as frequently as I believe it should. Further, I believe Muslim communities should actively fight this evil in their midst. Both philosophically and physically. This is beginning to happen in Iraq but otherwise I see scant evidence of it occurring anywhere else. I think many that advocate deportation or call "all Muslims traitors" understand the above but see no need to restate the facts because they are obvious to anyone paying attention. Their position as I see it is to remove the evil and its support structure from our midst before the problem becomes life threatening to the nation. Not necessarily fuzzy thinking or a ridiculous argument. Especially since our enemy will not follow the rules of war. Good night. Morning comes early for old men.
