NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FOX Business Network (FBN) will launch on October 15, 2007, announced Neil Cavuto, FOX News Senior Vice President and Managing Editor of Business News. FBN currently has 30 million subscribers under contract after securing distribution agreements with major cable operators in top markets around the country, including the world's financial capital -- New York -- where it will be seen on expanded basic cable. In making the announcement, Cavuto said, "I'm extremely excited to be part of such a dynamic venture and I look forward to building on the success of our existing top five business programs in cable news."
FOX News Executive Vice President Kevin Magee will be responsible for the channel's day to day operations, while Cavuto will direct content and business news coverage and serve in an on-air capacity. Cavuto will report to Magee and Roger Ailes, Chairman & CEO, FOX News and Chairman of FOX Television Stations, who will oversee FBN.
Magee added, "We are excited to introduce the FOX Business Network into the financial news arena and look forward to growing our subscriber base to develop a competitive network in the coming years."

But..but... Boooyyaaahhhh?
Larry Kudlow is good.
CNBC = Chicks...Nothing But Chicks. :)
Fanastic! Finally a business network that will praise capitalism. Lou Dobbs used to that at CNN until somebody put some DNC in his coffee one day. The only thing he makes since about these days is immigration and that’s about it.
Kudlow is updating his resume
FNC certainly has enough money experts to start another channel but don’t take Neil Cavuto plz. I love his big head!
Can’t imagine there are enough corporate car chases, missing employees, and bond custody battles to maintain a financialtainment station.
Everyone be sure and call their local cable operators and insist they carry FBC. I just called mine.
Can we buy out Joe Kernan’s contract and get him on Fox?

*giant puckering noises abound*
“Can we buy out Joe Kernans contract and get him on Fox?”
I wouldn’t doubt if more than a few CNBC’ers end up at FBC. Cavuto himself was a CNBC before he went over to FNC. I hope only the CNBC’ers that truly believe in the capitalistic system end up a FBC.
Even Pops is talking about cancelling the Wall Street Journal subscription we have had for 30 years or so....It is delivered about 75% of the time due to the erratic delivery person. Talking about getting the Financial Times especially since our major clients are now German, French, and ....German and French.
I trade the market every day. I always have CNBC on during market hours. I NEVER turn on the sound. You have to give CNBC credit they have very good bugs and tickers. I have real time quotes on stocks and treasuries but not on commoditie’s futures.I do not trade commodities but it is important to keep an eye on them and CNBC bugs does pretty well at that. I can get Bloomberg but I like CNBC’s screen better. For me, the secret of a business channel is how well they give you information, the kind that does not come out of ones mouths but the superimposed text kind. I may turn to Fox Business Channel if they good bugs and tickers, but if they do not I will stick with CNBC. Of course, CNBC is NEVER on with or without sound when the market is closed.
Oh great!
Based on Fox’s recent history, this will be an All Amnesty, All the Time station.
We’ll be deluged 24/7 on how business needs cheap labor and if the morons in the public don’t go along with it the economy will fold.
I wouldn’t mind a Squawk Box (better in previous years) or Kudlow that was commercial free on a subscription basis. I do software development from home and have CNBC on from time to time when I can muster the tolerance for the commercials.
It's Doom-and-Gloomberg which is demanding socialism as the globe's only hope!!
