>>>>>You can’t read Reagan Man....

I read fine. You posted some rhetoric about Reagan that simply wasn't true. They were falsehoods that you can't back up with hard evidence.

>>>>>Have you read some of Reagan’s comments on abortion? Who was it pushing for the Brady Bill?

Both issues have been debated on FR for years. Long before you got here. The abortion issue is a red herring. Reagan was pro-life from 1968 onward. He never supported Roe v Wade or abortion on demand. Read Reagan's essay, "Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation" and get informed.

While many conservatives, like myself, didn't agree with Reagan's position on the Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons Ban, the man is entitled to take any position he wants as an American citizen. Besides, Jim Brady was a good friend and political ally of Ronald Reagan.

>>>>>I have stated twice now that Reagan is my favorite President and why.

We don't attack good conservatives on Free Republic with cheap pot shots. Its an example of what lazy liberals engage in. Especially not a conservative icon like Reagan.

>>>>>You need to read more and show your ass less.

And you need to get an education. Pick up a book and read up on Reagan. The Reagan Diaries and Reagan in His own Hand are two good choices. Get to know the real Ronald Reagan.

Btw, the politics of both Fred Thompson and Ronald Reagan are be in agreement on many issues. All the more reason conservatives should to consider Fred T as a viable alternative to Rooty, Mitt and McCain.

You simply over reacted to the TRUE statements I made about my favorite President. And you need to talk to Hunter, Paul and Rudy supporters about that notion that Freeper’s don’t flame good conservatives here...not me.

They shouldn’t, but they do, all day long.

Thompson is more like Reagan than any other candidate. But to frame either of them as right-wingers would not be true.

As for getting to know the real Reagan, not only have I read many of his writings, but I met the real Ronald Reagan and was given a flag at the White House by Reagan personally. It still hangs in my office beside his singed picture and personal note. Still think I don’t know the real Reagan?

I know Reagan. He was a great man and a great president. But he was no hardcore right-wing extremist.

That was my point. And neither is Thompson.
