Oh. OK. Must be military to be PRESIDENT. I got it now. Sorry. I thought you were suggesting military people are better at being Citizens than mere mortals. We must reject people who want to be President on that basis.

Also, you seem adept a twisting/inserting words - please stop.
Between Thompson and Hunter I would not hesitate or hold my nose voting for either man for president.
Hunter has my vote in the primaries though - because of his military record.

Although I agree with you that military service should not be a prerequisite for office, you are mistaken on the candidates who have military experience.
In addition to McCain, Hunter was in the army (and a Ranger at that!), and Ron Paul was in the Air Force as a flight surgeon.
