Other than his vote for the McCain Feingold bill, I don’t see anything here that is especially damning. Failure to nail clinton on China? There was no way he could do more in the circumstances. Laziness? As I recall, people accused Ronald Reagan of the same sin, because he didn’t pretend to be busy all the time about fidgetty little things.

Sure, he will be pushed hard to do the will of the big money Republicans. Any electable Republican will be subjected to the same pressures. The question is, does he have the character to fight back on the important issues, or will he fold?

Should Fred have attacked Bush and the Republican party for spending too much over the past seven years? Why? What would that have accomplished? Absolutely nothing.

On the whole, I think Viguerie is not to be trusted. Who is he working for here, I wonder? Or is this just an ego trip?

You remind me about how those full-of-it Democrats would complain because Regan would take an afternoon nap, yet they seemed to have no problem with Bill playing doctor under the desk in the Oval Office. Personally, I admired Reagan for taking his nap, don’t ask me why, cause I don’t know, I just know it made me like him even more.
