He needs to have distinguished himself through past accomplishments and yes getting his mug on TV and radio talk shows -- so the public has some idea who he is and what he has accomplished with his life so he is in a position to raise money; 24 years as a worker bee in the House ain't gonna cut it. Nobody is gonna hand fame to anybody and money don't buy a winning campaign... i.e. look at sorry assss mcPain
