Some of this I gotta call B.S. Some of these “doctors “ who tried to blow up parts of London and Glasgow were mariied with kids. Sex was available. It’s the cult of death part that drives ‘em.

Number one son was on a IED search foot patrol on a main supply route with his platoon outside Fallujah when a man approached on foot walkig down the road towards the Marines. The lead Marines told him to stop repeatedly in arabic. The guy kept coming so at about 75 meters, the Marines shot him. He collapsed and blew up. He was a suicide bomber. The top half of his torso was on one side of the road and the other half was on the other side. Smack dab in the middle of the road was the guy’s penis all wrapped up in an adhesive tape. According to the Iraqi interpreters this was done to protect his package for the 72 virgins he was to get.

Reason and persuasion does not work with fanatics. Bullets, however, do.

A part of me wants to sorrow over the naively hopeful yet hopeless nature of the event you describe.

And another part is gleefully kicking up its heels at that incredibly mind-blowing absurdity witnessed by your son.

Please give him my thanks for his service.

Semper fidelis,
TM
