All that’s missing is for David Copperfield to make the plane disappear!

Nice touch, adding the ISLAMIC CRESCENT to their logo!
From www.boeing.com:
Hmmm... I seem to recall SOME connection between Islamic terrorists and commercial airplanes. What WAS that connection???

So is this the ‘Jump the Shark’ moment for Boeing? I’m mean what a colossal waste of time!

I do recall aircraft having some significance to Islamists in the past. The crescent moon works for the Arab world.
The 8 in the 787 is a number of prosperity in Asia.

I swear I think we saw this thing shortly after takeoff at the Bangor Airport. I tried to get a photo but couldn't’t get my phone out of my purse fast enough. At first we thought it was An-225 but it was a commercial airliner. It was huge!

I saw a program on it yesterday and it uses composite plastics to make it lighter and stronger than if it was made from aluminum" Thus exposing passengers to much more radiation during high altitude flight; I hope they serve complementary Green Tea...

So is this the Jump the Shark moment for Boeing? Im mean what a colossal waste of time! I think this presentation was aimed at the people that worked on this plane worldwide. I'm sure they appreciated it.

Our local-area cable news network (NWCN) carried the simulcast of the Boeing net-cast. There was about a 30-second delay between thew TV program and the Net.
One thing NWCN did was split-screen their telecast so that you saw the Boeing CEO on one side...and the Dreamliner being rolled to it’s ready-position outside the hangar from their camera truck. We got to see it before anyone else did!
Also, once the festivities are done, it’s going right back to the factory to replace about 1000 temporary fasteners with the real ones.
Expected first flight is “sometime” in mid-August. They won’t set a date until they’re absolutely sure it’s ready to fly. They will likely have the first flight net-cast as well (and definately on NWCN).

The “crescent” logo was added when they acquired McDonnell-Douglas. Was MD’s logo long, long ago.

I think we are talking about the actual Crescent in the Dreamliner logo.
McDonnell Douglas had a round shape (that represented earth) and a rocket in motion with its trail. There was no crescent in the logo.
