“Oh, the false sense of security by ordering an extra large Diet Coke at McDonalds along with a tub of French fries. Why bother?”

Yeah i used to work at mcD’s when i was younger. It was really quite amusing when a person would order a double quarter pounder with cheese and fries, supersized, but with a diet coke? Geez, your already ingesting like 1500 calories, you may as well go for the real coke. Too funny.

I am not in favor of banning anything. I don’t think aspartame should be banned. They always say something is bad for you, then years later a new study will say it’s not. And basically everything seems to cause cancer. LOL. I just think moderation is best. That way, if you only have a few bottles of pop a week you can afford to have the non diet version. Especially if your a coke person like me, cause diet coke is nasty. I kind feel like if your going to drink diet caffeine free soda, you may as well drink water.

Some people, like me, are sensitive to having too much sugar in the diet, but aren't particularly worried about the total calories.

Until recently, I was consuming several diet sodas per day sweetened with aspartame. After readinga book which claimed that aspartame upsets the proper operation of a key neuro-transmitter, I decided to eliminate them.

Much to my surprise, it would appear that the aspartame is very habit-forming. It took weeks for my cravings to subside.
