Although Bush has done some good for the pro-life cause, we go into the next election cycle with the pro-life, pro-family base of the Republican Party demoralized and confused by the President's policies. The coalition must be put back together, and quickly, if we are to advance the cause of Life to its necessary conclusion: The protection of every human life from conception to natural death.

And nominating a pro-abortion candidate like Roody will DESTROY the GOP.

Disagree with the writer. The pro-life movement has never been galvanized as it has now.

Maybe Bush hasn't done more for the pro-life cause in terms of being unequivocally about it like Reagan has, but his policies and subsequent statements are still encouraging.

I’m not sure I understand this. The war on terror has the support of most conservatives. If anything, Bush’s mistake was not to pursue it harder, after the successful first stage of the war in Iraq.

Yes, the immigration fiasco has badly damaged his reputation among conservatives. But it has no obvious connection with the right to life. So far, he has been firm on that.

Let’s hope he will put amnesty behind him. But his stand on life so far has been excellent. I can’t imagine why anyone would complain about it. The only weak point, which this article doesn’t mention, is that Rove never seems to have understood the importance of this issue, which resulted in serious mistakes with such people as Specter, Santorum, Simon, Schwarzenneger, and so forth. But to his credit, Bush has not let Rove talk him into abandoning his basic pro-life stance.

I am so sick of whiners, like the writer of this crap. It is the type of writing that reminds me of the unions on the democrat side. One can never do enough. It is a constant and unending whine.

“The fact is that [the Iraq war] has distracted the nation from its principal duty, namely, to protect the lives of all Americans, both born and unborn.”

LOL
We’re engaged in an existential war with radical Islam for the purpose of protecting all Americans, a war of which we’re assured Iraq is part. Abortion is surely not the highest national priority we have, nor should it be.
