My 84-year-old father collapsed and was taken to the hospital in May, 2000. The doctor in the ER told my mother that they should withhold all food and liquid, give him morphine, and let him die quietly. She was absolutely shocked, particularly as he had hardly been sick in his life, although he had suffered from Parkinson’s that last year. My mother told him no that she would talk to her children first and he got mad. When we got there, we reaffirmed her decision. When she told him again, you got visibly see his anger. My father died later in the week, but not by the doctor’s hand. Oh, this doctor was Egyptian.
Well then, this proves it: Egyptian Dr’s are not to be trusted! (/sarcasm) BTW, it sounds like the Dr. was correct in his assessment.
