Never claimed to be any sort of scholar, just a Christian who has been shown the truth.
Your ‘chuckle’ comments came across as very dismissive of desiring to learn deeper the truths of God’s word.
>>I just refuse to get into a tit for tat over scripture online.<<
You’ve also clearly refused to study that which confronts your surface-level understandings of the origins of grace, who receives it, why, and who gets the credit.
>>Besides, it is this very thing that chase people away from Christianity.<<
No, sin chases people away from Christianity. Word-based debate and exhortation builds us up. Just as the Bereans searched the scriptures to see if Paul’s words had any authenticity in the light of Scripture, we must do the same. Test everything against Scripture to see if there’s any merit to it. In this case, the idea that man in his sinful state can ‘choose’ to accept Christ does not stand up against the light of Scripture. You’re refusing to take a closer look, and that is nothing more than ignorance.
I would not have ever studied these truths had God not crossed my path with a fellow believer who confronted my arminianism with the doctrines of grace. Confrontation challenges our long-held and incorrect beliefs. That’s how we grow. We don’t grow by sitting by and chuckling.
You do not know me, nor do you know the level of my study of Holy Scripture......very presumptuous on your part.
The arrogance I speak of comes from “mans” unending ability to speak for God.
I do not subscribe to the Calvinist doctrine, predestination, total depravity, unconditional election, perseverance of the saints, God’s grace or atonement as defined by Calvinist dogma.
I have had debate with Calvinist before. Much of what you believe is the same as other Christ honoring Church's, but portions of this TULIP doctrine I believe is flawed and I think that that point can be supported scripturally.
That’s really not the point however. My original point is how denominationalism, religous-ology is not so unlike the pharisees of old. These guys thought they had it all figured out.........and they KNEW SCRIPTURE, BY HEART!!
On that last day, there will be many non calvanist standing in heaven right beside you.
Blessings.
