Not funny to think about, is it? Unfortunately, it’s become clearly plausible.
But you didn’t go to lunch. Just because you believe you could have, doesn’t mean you really could have. If God knew what you were going to do before He created you, then what you thought was a decision, really wasn’t was it? You were merely following His script.
I do not believe we really have freewill. I believe God has a plan for each of us, and we can only do as He has planned.

There was this tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden of Eden, right? And God told Adam and Eve, `Anything else, but don’t touch that . . . ‘
But they do, see they’re naked, are ashamed and clothe themselves.
So He decides that they have to leave or `they may eat from the tree of life and become like us.’
By eating from the tree of knowledge, they became sentient creatures, rather than simply sitting on top of the food chain, capable of choosing items from either column A or column B.
Even God didn’t know what His son would do, that is, how he would decide, when faced with choosing whether to walk that walk, after talking the talk, in a manner of speaking.
But the wages of sin are death, right? If death is such a bad thing, why wouldn’t He let us eat from the tree of life as well? Made in His own image and all that, loved us so much He acquiesced in what He didn’t even require of Abraham . . .

I went along with their Stalin tactics this time... after not flying for a couple of years in protest. Know your enemy... I just wonder how many others around me even know what is really happening.
Knowledge not being the same as manipulation is true for humans, but I believe God is above/outside of what we call logic. I believe God is the creator, and as the creator, His fore-knowledge of what we do, is the same as manipulation. I do not believe we can do anything other than what He designs us to do.
BTW, BQ, do you know how to do Excel?

For whatever reason, I think about these things a lot, that probably is why I ask about it so often.
No it isn’t. I was raised by VERY religious people and I’ve heard all of this for most of my life. When I was a child I had the hell scared out of me when I first heard about the Apocalypse. Even more so when I read it myself. You learn to accept what you can’t change and not worry about it.
