Were you there on Sunday? I was sitting in the 13th tee grandstand- it sounds like you were in the 13th green grandstand. Man, that was fun. I was surprised that every golfer was taking the same approach to the 12th hole... land your 2nd shot on the approach and watch the ball either roll off the back of the green or settle to the back right corner of the green. Furyk was one of the only ones to lay up (and he bogied).

Oakmont did a great job preparing the course and handling the crowd, I thought. I really had no complaints.

For more freedom of movement, not in the grandstand but on the hill up against the 14th tee (on Sat). On Sunday I was in the 13th tee grandstand.

Trying to hit 12 in two was impossible. The gap in front of the green funneled everything into the trap or the crap, and on the green went to the right back, were eagle was possible but it didn’t happen.

Not an easy hole or shot on the course.
