China exports far more to us than the other way around. According to The Economist China's biggest export destinations are, as a percent of the total value of exports, the US (21%), Hong Kong (17%), Japan (12.4%), South Korea (4.7%), and Germany (4%). Its main origins of imports are Japan (16.8%), Taiwan (11.5%), South Korea (11.1%), US (8%), and Germany (5.4%).

One would think that Japan would side with the US in any confrontation with China.

The Chicoms decided the fastest way to build up thier military is to engage us economically as at present. At some point they will stop “holding thier noses” and try to rip us a new one. I expect they are waiting for an ultra-liberal government in the US to assist them.

Oops, what I meant to say was that with the amount of investment the rest of the world has put into China, a conflict with it is one thing they will try to avoid.

Wouldn’t an embargo with China instantly cripple the manufacturing base of most companies? Most everything has a ‘made in China’ tag these days.

This Chinese threat will only grow with no one being able to steer or mitigate it.
