The longest war in American history, at this point, isn't it?

Someone please tell me where to find the manual which provides the required length of a war before calling it a day? It would appear that there are not many in this country that have studied history, especially the history of warfare. Can anyone here tell me how many wars in the history of the Middle East lasted for more than 100 years? The issue will not be how long this war lasts, but how long the American people are willing to put up a fight in order to preserve freedom and liberty. From the looks of what is going on in Washington D.C. we may be witnessing the beginning of the end of our nation. As for me, I'll take liberty or I'll take death. there are no other choices.
