It’s Thompson’s conservatism and the perception of his electability. Romney, McCain and Giuliani are all mavericks and that’s not a good sell in the South.
Here in the South, we will always take the home town candidate over an outsider, and in the GOP primary, that makes for an unbeatable head start. Thompson/Hunter 2008!
