Zina Linnik was last seen around 9:45 p.m. on July 4, Tacoma police said. Witnesses reported hearing a scream and seeing an Asian male get into an older, gray van and drive away.
Linnik is described as a blonde, 4-foot-11-inch-tall Ukrainian girl. She weighs 80 pounds and was reportedly wearing a pink T-shirt, capri pants and red flip-flop sandals at the time of her disappearance.

Every time I see one of these Amber Alert stories, my stomach just churns. Please let them find her in time.
is this JUST NOW going out? wow - prayers for the little girl. *heart wrenches*

This has been reported since early this morning on all the local radio stations. The van’s partial Washington plate contains the numbers 1677.
Tacoma Police tell KOMO 4 news they have a person of interest in the disappearance of Zina Linnick, and that has led them to the woods of Tiger Mountain in east King County.[snip]
They also detained 42-year-old Terapon Adhahn, a level-one sex offender who they now call a "person of interest" in Zina's disappearance.
"They made contact with him, talked to him, searched the house and searched the van and even after all of that they still can't eliminate him," Mark Fulghum, a spokesman for Tacoma Police, said.
Fulghum said the man is not a suspect.
"Well, because we are still working through the tip," Fulghum said. "We haven't finished it off but something we discovered during the course of the investigation pointed us to him as a person of interest, not a suspect but just a person of interest and that is why we continue to expand the investigation."
Adhahn was accused of rape in 1990 and pleaded guilty to incest. He is being held by immigration authorities, but there is a possibility he could end up in the Pierce County jail for failing to register at a sex offender.
The News Tribune of Tacome reports that court documents say detectives found a girl's undergarments during a search of the Parkland home of the 42-year-old man who owns the van.
The man also admitted to recently changing his license plate that closely matched the plate number Zina's father saw the night of her disappearance.
Detectives also talked to two people who say they were with the man until 9 p.m. on July 4. Zina disappeared at 9:45 p.m.
