When you visit the 1st Cav memorial at Fort Hood Casey's name stands out along with the rest of the eight who died that day. It was the day that showed the highest numbers of loss in one day during the 1st Cav's first tour of duty in Iraq.

You can't help by being moved over the fact that most on that day gave all trying to save their brothers. How sad that their sacrifice has lost meaning to so many.

I am also a 1st Cavalry Division veteran (see profile) and still belong to the 1st Cav association. First team!

Leo Flood aka leofl graciously gave us freepers and friends a tour of Fort Hood this April, and we got to see this monument, but I didn’t notice that particular name on the wall. Interesting.
