Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, an outspoken critic of pornography, is called to task for his ties to Marriott hotels, a chain that makes money by providing porn to guests.

I believe you misunderstood my post. I was not trying to say that pornography and abortion, of themselves, are equal. I was stating that politicians tend to ignore their supposed "faith" in the course of their activities, thus showing a double-standard.
Think of it this way - if Romney were to be a major shareholder in Pepsi Co. and served on the boards of Maxwell House and Phillip Morris*. It would be somewhat akin in hypocrisy to a John Kerry claiming to be a practicing Catholic while voting in favor of abortion and against the partial-birth abortion ban.
* The depicted scenario is 100% a creation of my imagination for the purpose of providing an example.
I agree that abortion is at the top of the horrid crimes perpetrated on the human race.
Yeah, you've been using high speed internet since 1980 and never turned on a TV in 27 years. LOL.
It's just like Sam Malone being surprised there was a Bible in each room after a career playing ball.
Did you ever read the Wall Street Journal? Any other business publication? The big business of porn has been big news for a long time, but especially since the early 90's. Mitt Romney, the financier and self-proclaimed anti-porn crusader, assuredly knew about Marriott distributing porn.
Look, lady, you're clueless, and that's fine, but you and Louis Renault are the only ones to be surprised by porn in hotels.
Consider that OTHER people in this wide world might have had different experiences than you, and you are NOT the center of the known universe.
I have never been a big fan of television, but I was on the internet before you had heard of it - on the mainframes at Georgia Tech back in the bad old days when we all played Adventure in FORTRAN and carried stacks of computer cards around with diagonal lines drawn on them in Magic Marker.
So watch out who you're calling clueless. I have better things to do with my time than watch TV or learn about pornography -- which is probably why I'm better educated and better read than I deserve to be.
Wow, it's a good thing you had broadband internet in the hotels at the Tech campuses you traveled to around the US. No lag whatsoever, eh?
No, seriously, I'm glad you never turned on one of those evil hotel televisions with their secretly hidden porn. Luckily there's no porn on the internets, so you have been safely sheltered.
Apparently you don't know enough to stay away from that stuff -- or else you secretly enjoy it. Whatever, have fun slavering over it -- I'll pass, I think.
It's true. You got me. I secretly enjoy watching television.
Well, it's not a secret any more, is it?
I guess I am just weak. Unlike you and Mitt, I have watched television in the past 27 years.
At post 73, I provided a link to today’s Associated Press story on this issue, which included new quotes and content not found in earlier posts that were limited to some political blogs and in-house conservative Christian media.
However, the link is no longer active because the Freep moderator removed the AP story, judging it of no news value to Freepers that the issue had just gone national in the MSM.
So since you’re not allowed to read the AP story here on Free Republic, folks, watch your local papers tomorrow.
Or if you can’t wait — this cracks me up — you CAN read the Freep-censored AP story in full on the “uncensored” website of...

I refuse to stay in hotels that have porn. I refuse to have cable companies that give me porn. I refuse to have a phone system that delivers porn, or use an internet service that allows access to porn.
I’m one of those Geico Cave Men.
:-)
CNN found out he slept there once.
That's good enough to be called 'ties', for them.
Hey, laughing-boy: That joke is soooo 2006.
That explains a lot. Have a nice life.
I want to personally thank-you for showing me the light - These pathetic attacks have only convinced me to vote for Romney in the my state’s primary except if Thompson seems to have something better to offer. From quotes made 14 years ago to cultist conspiratorialists, it does nothing but repel me from considering candidates that people like yourself support.
In fact I believe I will soon be actually volunteering for Romney. And when I do I will not be posting pathetic hit pieces like this against other candidates.
I in no way recommend porn to anyone but please spare us the anti-porn feminist mantra!
Happy to have been of service, mummy.
“Just the facts, mam.” That’s our motto.
How you process the facts is up to you.
"I believe Romney has always been pro-life in his heart..." --torchthemummy, 5/3/07
So how many times have you plighted your troth to Slick Willard so far? Eh, who cares. At least you've stopped flirting with Rudy, for the most part.
“I believe Romney has always been pro-life in his heart...”
Plus he’s been a “life” member of NRA too.
Since last August.
And he’s a champion of the Marriage Protection Amendment too.
After opposing it when running for governor.
And he’s against the homosexual agenda now too...sorta.*
After endorsing “gays in the military” and Kennedy’s federal “gay rights” legislation before.
Etc., etc., ad nauseum.
* Sorta since he still says “gays raising children” is “great” and “the American way” and still believes the Boy Scouts are wrong to prohibit homosexual Scoutmasters. At least those were his positions a couple weeks ago. A couple of weeks having passed, though, it’s possible he has entirely new positions.
That was just to ping you the two was not about you EEE!:)
All I can say is, “Wow.”
Romney not only signed a permanent assault weapons ban, he has admitted in this campaign for President that he still supports that.
Hes still real proud of his RomneyCare socialized medicine scheme, the one that comes complete with taxpayer-funded abortions.
He supported abortion since 1970, before Roe, sought and gained the endorsements of NARAL and Planned Barrenhood, as well as that of the Log Cabin Republicans.
He forced the justices of the peace to perform gay marriages, using the threat of firing if they did not comply. He has proven himself to be one of the worst judicial supremacists ever to hold public office.
He appointed radical gay activists to positions in his administration, and even to the judicial bench.
His administration flooded state government and the public schools with the most vile radical gay propaganda possible.
He still supports the destruction of human embryos for scientific experimentation, and hes still taking money from those who stand to profit from that.
He still thinks that if a state wants to have legal abortions, thats fine with him. Obviously, he has no concept of the unalienable God-given right to life and liberty that are described in the Fifth and the Fourteenth Amendments.
As Governor, he appointed more Democrats and Independents to the bench than Republicans.
He left the MA GOP in shambles, sacrificed on the altar of his own personal ambition.
Mitt Romney would destroy the Republican coalition, if nominated.
Hillary Clinton is jealous of the liberal accomplishments of Mitt Romney.
