Resty,

Your contortions to defend them notwithstanding, Marriott consciously chooses to sell tens of millions of dollars of pornographic movies each year.

And if making money off porn wasn’t their driving motivation, they could have the porn removed from their in-room system just as other hotels have done.

Nothing some Marriott PR hack tells you changes those simple facts. Those concerned about this issue don’t take the porn peddlers’ word for any aspect of the issue.

Further, Romney served nearly a decade on the board, during which time he by all evidence approved not only of Marriott’s porn sales but received compensation generated in part by porn profits.

As prominent Mormon anti-porn activist John Harmer of Salt Lake City said of Romney in the Christian Broadcasting Network story Tuesday:

“My attitude toward board members is that they are fully responsible. They knew exactly what they were receiving. I don’t think any board member under any rationale could claim ignorance. You’re either a board member or not. I can’t imagine a board member going a full year and not receiving a revenue report from the company.”

The Davis County Clipper, Bountiful, Utah, also reported March 29th that Brother Harmer “believes the key to winning against pornography is to take away the financial benefits that keep more legitimate businesses supporting it. ...’The hotel industry alone makes $500 million a year from hard-core porn on pay-per-view. If we can dry up some of that funding, we’ll have an impact.’”

Since you disagree with former Lt. Gov. Harmer, who is a prominent member of the LDS Church, does that make you “anti-Mormon”?

Like I told you before if you want to be so pure you have to give up all electronic communications and go back to the Pony Express because the dollars you spend on Phone, Internet, Cell phones etc, also is doing business with the Cable Merchants who sell this stuff.

You are lying to your self if you think you can have cable for your TV and not be voting with your dollars to support Porn Merchant!

I guess the question, “How far will ‘restornu’ go to defend Mitt Romney” remains unanswered.

One could ask the same of those who are making the assertions.

Oh Yes Gov. Harmer, the Chairman of "Light a Candle" in Utah who is against Mitt.

Well there seems to be some conflict in the Light a Candle group who support Mitt!

Actually, his track record indicates he has no strong beliefs. He strongly “believes” whichever side of an issue his finger in the wind tells him might get him elected, which obviously changes from one election to the next (abortion, homosexual issues, guns, etc.)

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

One really has to have the mentality of a (fill in the blank) to be postulating that on which you know so little. If I knew you knew what was in the heart of the man I might listen, but it just smells of a low class lash out to me. If it wasn’t the issues mentioned it would be something for sure.

“Well there seems to be some conflict in the Lighted Candle group who support Mitt!”

You’re absolutely right, Resty.

And I suspect Justin Hart probably got his you-know-what in a ringer for:

(1) Being quoted in a news story as ssying something in conflict with the comments by his new boss, Brother Harmer, the founder and chairman of the group who holds Romney as a board member responsible for Marriott porn sales, and

(2) Falsely claiming in the same news story that the Lighted Candle group itself is on Romney’s endorsement list.

Hart: “Romney’s record shows that he could very well effect that change to happen. The fact that he included a serious anti-pornography group on his Faith and Values committee suggests this as well.”

Fact is, Mr. Hart is on Romney’s committee. The anti-porn group he (used to?) work for is not and could not legally be on the committee.

>>>One could ask the same of those who are making the assertions.<<<

We already know Eternatl Vigilance has gone beyond the point of trolling attacking Romney.

He’s held him responsible for legislation passed by the Mass legislature that he vetoed.

He’s held him responsible for bills Romney passed that carried over previously passed state laws (i.e. state funding for abortions).

All of this coming from the guy who floats so far out there as to call Romney the most liberal governor in US history, which alone speaks for his credibility.

Why oh why do you think I am in any way associated with Brownback? I think this is a hit piece to, my question was to hopefully bring to light how little influence, if any, Romney has in operational matters like this.

Outside directors never get involved in minutiae like what kind of movies are sold in hotel rooms. Anyone who would think otherwise knows absolutely nothing about how a public corporation works.

The primary function of the board of directors is to monitor and advise the management team and make sure it's running the company in the shareholders' interests, not micromanage every detail of the business.

This hotel room porn "scandal" has got to be the most pathetic attack on Mitt yet. Scratch that, it's the second most pathetic. The most pathetic was the claim was that Mitt was responsible for gay marriage in MA. The same idiots putting this garbage out were responsible for that lying smear as well.

that generates major profits (yes, it's a cash cow) from ppv pornography.

So what percentage of Marriot's revenues come from purchases of in-room porn? If you want to claim it's a "cash cow," please give us some numbers to back it up.

The far right kooks are turning out to be a major embarrasment for the Republican with their increasingly ridoculous demands.

What do they want next? That Romney put a camera in every room to make sure nothing x rated goes on and also check whether the couples who check in the marriot rooms are not having sex if they are not married? One wonder whether these fringe groups are planted by the Dems to make the Republicans look like nutcases in the society.
